Spotting, really worried

Today I am 9 weeks exactly. Just been to the loo and there was blood when I wiped, not much and it was quite a light red. Also having a little bit of pelvic pain and it feels like it does when I get period cramps. Its not bad though, just a wee ache.

Not bled until today. Really worried, Dr's will be closed now, should I call NHS24? Is a little bit of blood normal. Worried to go toilet again incase theres even more. Don't know what to do.

just found this on another forum, its about spotting at 9 weeks.

"She said something I'd never heard before, that sometimes at this stage the baby will squirm around and nestle against the uterine lining, and this might cause a little brown spotting and cramping. I've never read this anywhere"

Think spotting is quite common, I had some about 6 weeks. I'd phone nhs24 if it's worrying you tho, even if it's just for reassurance xx

hello....just keep an eye on it. if there is any bright red, fresh blood....just get yourself to a&e...dont worry about how much or wasting their time etc...just go

it's best to be checked out....xx

Yeah it was on a Friday night so I knew I wouldn't be able to get a scan. Luckily it only lasted the one day and I had a scan at 9 weeks which reassured me! Fingers crossed for you xxx

I called NHS24, theres no nurses available to talk to me. Someone will call me back within the next 2 hours. Just been to the toilet again and the blood is a bit darker now, but it isnt bright red. Do you think it is maybe just old blood?

old blood is brown......is it brown or def red? xx

I have had episodes of spotting when I have had sex. Dr has told me to stop for a while but it is nothing to worry about.

Hope it stops soon x

It was a very light red the first time, almost pink. Now its a dark red. Haven't called back yet, watching corrie trying to take my mind off it.

Just a very dull ache now in the left of my abdomen, nothing else.

Am on my way to the hospital. Can't get hold of husband so have texted him. Will take me about another hour to get there I think. Times like these wish I'd learnt to drive a long time ago.

It's very scarey isn't it. I had spotting twice but the drs told me if it was brown and didn't last long then I shouldn't worry. Easier said than done though honey, xx

Thanks everyone. Well got to hospital last night quite late. Husband had got my text and he arrived just as I was about to have blood pressure taken. Everything fingers crossed seems fine. The Dr did an internal examination and said there was a little blood in there but nothing to worry about unless it gets really heavy. They took urine for testing too. Couldn't do an ultrasound as they arent allowed to do them out of hours but she said someone would call today and we could probably go this morning for an ultrasound, very exciting!!

Noticed I had a missed call on my mobile from 0850am so just called the hospital and got shouted at and told if they have said they will call, they will call just be patient. Bit upset now from the angry lady, especailly as she was in the ultrasound dept (hope I don't get her), but in general feeling a lot better from last night and hope hope hoping all will be ok. Thanks for all your kind thoughts and wishes.

Only my husband and I know about pregnancy so its great to be able to come on here for advice when I cant go to friends or family yet. Nearly called mum last night but I didnt want to worry her by saying, Im pregnant and by the way Im bleeding and on the way to the hospital, too much stress for her. Thanks again xx

the hospital just called, asked lots of questions and said to get in touch again if it happens for a couple of days or if it is heavy. I don't get to go in for early scan, thats ok as it wont be long anyway. Got first meeting with midwife on Thursday. Just keep fingers crossed all ok now. Feel relieved
