i know its a little off topic here but i'm finding it hard to sleep at the mo. We have just moved house and everyday i have seen about 6 spiders. The worst thing is 1 out of 10 are the massive scary ones. i'm now sleeping with lights on and every time i fall asleep i think of them.

Is anyone else having more than normal this year? a friend said it s the change in the ozone?!

i wake the baby up everytime i'm scared-feeling guilty.

I've brought the spider repellors but are not working for me!!

We live in a top floor flat so we don't get spiders..but if I did spot one I'd just use the old glass and paper thing. Big ones are scary though :( the worst for me is crane flies, I won't touch them, and if I turned the light off knowing one was flying around I would lie there frozen. Euch..

i moved from a top floor apartment where we had none, i want to go back!! we are by a lake and open areas now which i guess does not help. I want to move!!

Its moths and crane flys round here, big massiv ones that fly into me head.I sleep with mozzie nets over me bed incase i swallow one.

We not long moved into an older property which has been empty for years we also had to clear out and move out old furniture etc ...the amount of spiders were unbelievable ..its a wonder we ever moved in as I spent all my time screaming at them lol. I thought the spiders might have gone by now but we still have a few I too have to check my bedroom at night especially where there have been some nasty sized ones in there. I wish I knew where they came from. I like you am quite petrifyed, it feels as though they are taking over. I hate fearing such small insects as it can become a danger especially when your driving and a creepy crawly or flying insect appears.
* shudders at the thought* :puke: :puke:

i feel really silly being so scared. I just do not know what to do about them. I jump when driving and everything at the mo, i dont want to move anything!! need to do room for baby!!
LaulLaul a mozzie net sounds like a good idea for me!!

Yeah it's def moth season. I HATE them!   & daddy longlegs

I know how you feel, I'm terrified of spiders too! I moved from a top floor flat to the 2 bed house in the country where I am now and the house had been empty for over a month so we had hundreds of the darn things. Luckily once we settled in and everything was unpacked (we moved in sept/oct) we didn't really have any until May, and though we had loads from May-Sept, they are dwindling out now!!
I found the spider 'pest repeller' thing that you plug in works, and also got some citronella spray and 'no more spiders' spray from ebay, I spray them around windows and doors and around the pipes in the bathroom which is where we get most of ours!! :puke:
if my oh isn't around to get them I spray them with whatever is handy (hairspray etc) and then hoover them up. theres no way i can catch them in a glass!!
big hugs for you, hopefully you'll see a reduction in them soon too

Im right with you! Our house seems to be FULL of the little critters at the mo - Im sure its something to do with all the wet weather we have been having. I have heard that Citronella is meant to be amazing in getting rid of the 8 legged monsters. You can apparently get it in candles and also if you put a few drops of it on your duster when your polishing the house its meant to be really effective. I know Im gonna stock up cos we are about to move house to a barn conversion and when we went to see it it was spider city! Some were that big they growled and I swear one had a knuckle duster and a gold tooth!! So Im investing in a suit made of Citronella and Im gonna launch an attack as soon as i step foot in the place... Wish me luck!!!

I'm glad i'm not alone!! my partner thinks its the preg making me going nuts but i have always been like this its just we never had them before in our 3rd floor apartment.

I'm sorry to say i use a hover to get them too but sometimes they are too fast!!

It just worries me as i go crazy when i see one and them the baby starts jumping about as she must be able to tell i'm scared!!

i'm going on ebay now to look for spray. I have the plug in things but they are not working!! x
