just thought id post this for other people thinking about what to give their OH for fertilty.

just had a phone call drs who has advised the following:

1. wellmans conception
2. 100% rda vitamin c
3. NO other weird herbs or chinese medicines
4. Good diet, exercise
5. No caffeine.

Sounds like good advice. I've also heard not to let the balls get too hot. No laptops on laps, no really hot baths and cotton boxers can help too. At least they are things you can try that, even if it's an old wives tale, don't do any harm.

Also bear in mind that stress can play a massive factor, as it can with all of us! Hubby took all that advice after his results weren't great including no alcohol etc and his results were worse when they retested 5 months later, I'm sure because of the stress! Xx

Has he been checked for a varicocele (testicular varicose vein). DH had one and it had affected his motility and morphology.

The urologist (and the information leaflet from the hospital) stated that a varicocele can affect sperm quality and that it takes at least a full 3 month sperm cycle after corrective surgery to improve quality. However the fertility clinic were adamant it was just a coincidence.

He had an embolisation in August and I conceived in November. Sadly that ended in a chemical but I conceived naturally 3 months later.

We used conceive plus to help the sperm, Robitussin to thin CM, I charted, used a menstrual cup on one occasion to keep everything up there when I had to get out of bed. Plus I also ate pineapple (including the core) on days 2-6 following ovulation as I read the Bromelain is supposed to help with conception. It worked though..

The reason I mention the varicocele is because they are extremely common and most men aren’t aware of them. It tends to show as a slight bulge in veins on the left side.

thanks for sharing. From what I have read docs also recommend staying out of hot tubs and saunas
