Sperm friendly lube

I'm a massive fan of the old lube and I don't care who knows it!! Lol but I know spermicide is a no no for TTC.

I know some girls use preseed and KY (dont like it) and I've heard of conceive plus ...I even just read on another site of a lady using actual egg whites-bizarre! (But who are we mental TTCers to judge! Lol)

I bought some lube before that had loads of "wahay, I'm natural blah blah" labelling and when I got it home, it said it wasn't suitable for women trying conceive! I was proper miffed.

I just looked at the bottle we have, and it's called ID lubricant. It says it spermicide free!!

Does that mean I had suitable stuff to begin with?? What should I be looking out for in the ingredients?

You have to be soo careful with lube even though they don't have spermicide in they can slow sperm right down xxxx

Sperm can't move well in normal lube so you should only use a lube designed for ttc to be on the safe side. Only problem is they're pretty expensive xx

Yeah, that's why I was looking for alternatives. There's always good old fashioned spitting! Ever the romantic....

shes right saliva kills the sperm hun....i know i was gutted too as i love foreplay and it meant we culdnt do it at all as its not good for the swimmers.

yeh i think as for lube its only really preseed and conceive plus that are suitable.....that being said i was using conceive plus every cycle i was on clomid (and a few before that) and so was kaykay (another LTTTC'er), and both of us got our bfps the one cycle we didnt use it! call it coinscidence but i dunno

I'd like any willing volunteers to break this to my OH? Lol

Cheers though, it's all good to know! Do preseed/c-plus have that egg white consistency? The stuff I bought us called sensilube and it was stretchy...

I think its to do with the ph as well as e consistency Pippa, that's why saliva is bad for the swimmers xxx

U can use CPlus as a lube it's just like lube only it's friendly to the little guys xx

Yeah, I was hoping the spermicide free would be ok because OH doesn't want to know when we're TTC. Aw well, we'll see how we get on. If no BFP in a couple months I'll buy it.

I googled it, not sure if it's any cheaper to buy but thought I'd add it as an option

We use saliva - I tell my OH over and over again that its no good for the spermies but he doesnt listen, he keeps saying, its natural etc etc

We have used Conceive + before but OH didnt like the feel of it (and expensive)

Back to the drawing board. No wonder there's been no sign of our BFP yet

Hi Pippa, thanks for the link. It costs £14.99 for 6 applications. £6.99 on Ebay for 4 appications and about £12 for the 6 applications. I'm definitely gonna try this next year
