Does anyone know how safe it is to wear Spanx right after baby is born?i don’t mean immediately but after three children (I’ve put on a LOT of weight) I know my tummy isn’t going to fit in anything and am worried about the first few trips out where it’s all saggy :/ or af least until I can be active enough again to lose it...

I'd invest in a floaty top rather than spanx. Not sure about the safety aspect though. I can't imagine it will be comfortable though

Agree with Chase. I don't think spanx would be a very safe choice. Maybe something with very light control would be ok?

Your best off asking your doctor hun as your body has alot of work to do after birth with everything moving back into the right place and your muscles coming back together properly and spanx or corestry might hinder it

Thanks ladies!
I only thought of it because I saw a belly band in mothercare that supposedly helps you get your shape back (wtf?!) everyone knows it’s a load of rubbish but I think I could use the control
Until I’m able to workout again.. I will definitely check with the doctor first, if not looks like it’s baggy hoodies and OHs t shirts :D

There is post partum underwear on mothercare website that looks like Spanx but isnt as heavy duty maybe have a look there ?

Actually it’s very safe and even recommended and common practice by many women all over the world. I wouldn’t get spanx though, I’d specifically get a postpartum girdle, it helps bring your muscles back together and hold everything in and it helped me so much with back pain too because I was “held together” so well. This is why postpartum belly binding is common practice in many cultures- they actually think it’s inhumane NOT to do some kind of belly binding because it’s so helpful.

I did it the last 2 times and I will again this time, I swear by it at this point!
