I have never had any pain before with breastfeeding, but suddenly my right nipple kills every time K latches on! There is no tingling or shooting pains or anything like that so I have no clue what the issue is. It hurts so much though! Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Xx

hmmm, i was going to say thrush? but think that comes with shooting pain. is pain in nipple or boob?

It was just in the nipple, but now I have a hard lump like a blocked duct too.... Going to look up symptoms of mastitis now.

oh no, ive had blocked duct before a few times, have you tried massaging it while feeding and hot bath? also keep feeding on that side s it clears :hugs:

Yeah, I had a blocked duct before too. I just fed her and massaged it out, but my nipple hurts so much still. It feels like it is being sliced off. I am thinking it is either thrush or a milk blister.... Hoping for thrush as that seems easier to treat.

Sounds nasty! Poor u! Hope its gone soon xx

Does sound like mastitis? Maybe a trip to the gp or to the breast feeding support workers would help determine what's happening xx

I thought mastitis, but I got the hard lump out by massaging so it is really just nipple pain. I have been putting canesten on it all day and seems to be helping so I am pretty sure it is thrush. I am heading to my doctor's office in a bit to pick up a prescription for K so if it isn't busy I will see if he can see me. It really isn't fun when you dread feeding your baby. I am lucky I didn't have pain when we were first figuring out bf... I don't know how moms handle it!
