so hard to hide ttc!

i went for dinner with 5 other friends last night. two of them are very close to me so they know i'm ttc (one of them is preggers). anyway the other 3 keep quizzing me about it lately coz im not drinking, they think im either ttc or preggers so i changed my plans from driving there to getting the bus (central london on a friday night - not fun, plus HOW COLD WAS IT LAST NIGHT!!) so that i could have a drink to sort of 'prove' im not ttc (even though i am) and get them off my back! aarggh! its sooo annoying! and the thing is when i do get preggers im not telling any of them for 3 months but i know they will guess really easily! XX

Aw hun, don't try so hard and you might be in with a chance!! If they get used to the fact that you can't drink because you are driving then it wont be so difficult to hide when you actually are pregnant.

Oh and if they are close friends and you can be open with them, how about having a 'urine infection'? ha ha! A girl I know is really prone to Cystitis, which means she has to avoid alcohol a lot and drinks loads of water, when she got pg none of us suspected because she just said she had another urine infection!

Secrets are stressful, especially when it pretty obvious that you are keeping a secret.

Lets face it - they all have you sussed and a drink probably isn't going to throw them off.

It is them knowing they have you sussed that is making them confront you about it because they want to be right and don't like being treated like they are not trusted or whatever.

Maybe come clean but take the opportunity to express that you do not want it to be common knowledge and you do not want to talk about it again because you feel it is private.

I'm yet for anyone to enquire how ttc is going and i tell everyone. It just a case of being open about how much you want to talk about it
