sniffing the birthing ball!!

I can't stop sniffing my birthing ball! It has such a nice smell to it and I find it bizarrely relaxing! I've had the ball out 24/7 with these contractions and with trying to get Aimee to turn around. I got my ball from Birth Ease... is anyone else loving the smell of theirs?

or am I going truely mad with the lack of sleep?!

i got mine second hand so don't have the rubber smell, but i know what you mean about things like that, i love new carpet smell.

Sorry for a really stoopid question but where do you get the balls from? Are the same as the fitness balls or are they a different size?

It depends on your height tbh. 5'9 and under is ok on the average sized one. Over that and you need one 10cms bigger for it to work properly when you position your legs etc.

Hips have to be higher than knees at all times and feet flat to the floor. Tiliting forward so as to encourage LO into a good position and avoid back to back.

Things like sitting on a sofa or reclining back can encourage babies to go back to back so good posture is advised. Hence the position on the ball.

Just a normal gym ball if you are under 5'9 I'd say. Just you don't get the pregnancy and labour exercise instructions with those.

I got mine from the Birthease site and got the larger size for my height and it has a leaflet with exercises to do to help in labour and positions to try etc. Only thing is it costs more for one from there than a plain old gym ball.

Go with whatever you are comfy with
