Slings/Carriers; how do people combat their baby

i use a ringsling to carry my squishy for now, might get a connecta or something as she gets bigger but its just perfect for us right now.

Combat their fears over baby suffocating / getting too hot

Your body kind of regulates their body. They don't need as many bits of clothing as you would in a pram i guess but depends on time of year, I find if Im hot/cold ds is too. We've used a variety of buckle carriers, wraps and mai tai over the last 2 years, some breath better than others and some are cooler or warmer.
