size of baby clothes

Well ive brought quite a few newborn clothes already. Problem is all my baby's have been early and quite small - my heaviest has been my daughter at 6lb 13 1/2oz and i remeber newborn being quite big on her still. My last baby was 4 weeks early and weighed 5lb 5oz. I dont know why but im quite reluctant to buy many small clothes this time. In fact im tempted just to stick with newborn as the smallest, though last time I HAD to buy smaller because Tristan was just so iddy biddy. Are you buying any new baby sizes? I know its quite unlikely but keep thinking what if my baby weighs more than 7lbs this time? (tho i cant see this happening tbf) then again, what if its iddy biddy again and ive only brought newborn!? Lol Think im over thinking this one

Hehe think you might be but think its normal!
I mean my boy was born 8lbs10oz, but newborn is still a lil big! He has mostly new baby or smaller newborn

I'm puzzle about all this too! The 0-3 months sleep suits I've bought look really big?

Have maybe 5-7 newborn or up to one month. They grow so quick you won't need a lot. We had 3 newborn (up to 8 lb's) and he lasted about 2 weeks in them. The up to 1 month ones are ether as they go to about 9 lb.'s. Fin is starting to grow too long for them now so he'll be into his 0-3 from tomorrow xx

The 0-3 will definatly be way too big at first - unless u have a whopper of a baby lol x

I think ill get a few newbaby just to be on the safe side x

Newborn will be fine for most average babies. If you don't buy too much once baby is here you'll know what to buy

I had the whopper of a baby as Harry was 10lb 10oz so we bypassed newborn clothes!!!

So far we've bought all 0-3 and the sleepsuits look tiny but clothes look huge to us! We're going to stick with those for now and wait and see how we feel a bit closer then probably grab a few newborn bits and just sort of see how we go. We know the baby will definitely fit in 0-3 even if a bit big but the newborn stuff says up to 8 or 9lbs... Can't remember which now, and we're fairly likely to be having a big one apparently which has scared us away from newborn for now.
To be honest we are just loving haing ickle baby clothes around lol not fully sinking in that our baby will be in them in October...

Me neither! I can't quite imagine a baby being in the newborn stuff at all anyway, I think it's because I've never seen one fresh out of the oven.

we have just bough a few packets of newborn vests and bodysuits. Just enough to do for a few days till I get back on my feet, then me and hubby are taking baby into town SHOPPING!

we cant wait, will be our first outing out as a family, first time using the pram and there is nothing better than buying lots of cute little things for baby!

I have bought a few bits in various sizes mainly cos I liked the look of things and thought it would suit minion better once a wee bitty older and Im hoping not to have a whopper of a minion lol

paul and I are going to get the essentials but only enough to do liek a week like Lynds77 has said until back on my feet to get things after that as its not that far to travel to the nearest big town and I want to get out and about a soon as possible afterwards

Our friend bought us a tshirt from america and I said to paul what size do you think it is and he said about 3 months and I thought it looked more like 6-9 months (perhaps I should do all minions clothes shopping as Paul will have them in skin tight clothes otherwise lol) xx

I have only bought two items one sleepsuit which says I love Daddy which is first size and then one fluffy jacket which is up to one month as it will get to hot in NZ for baby to wear it after first month.
Mum said my brother and I only fit newborn for 1 week because we were so tall. So I don't think I will buy much newborn and get 1 month +

I only had a few newborn things with AJ. (My sister had a nearly 10lb baby so thought I maybe the same!) I ended up asking AJ's sister to pick us a few extra bits up when she was shopping as I didnt have nearly enough sleepsuits for him as the 0-3 was drowning him.

This time we have some newborn but not loads and I'm not planning on buying anymore. Being a Nov baby, clothes could be washed and dried in a couple of hours with the heating on, so doubt we'll need to buy more.

I've never had a baby that's fitted in new born size clothes always brought 0-3 and been fine , but all mine have been between 8 and 9 lbs , I personally think I'd be too scare to touch someone as tiny as the new born size looks , It's so doll like . xx

I've bought everything from tiny baby to 0-6 in some bits that I really liked.
