My last few cycles have varied in length which i assume is pretty normal as it dropped from 38, to 26 and now 28 in the last 3.

Whats concerning me is that on each of these cycles my period has been much heavier and more intense. I am now using super tampons and leaking through these as the flow is so heavy, and all my life and up till Dec i have used regular tampons and had no issues. The pain i am experiencing is much more intense, really bad cramping, my downstairs feels like it aches, my legs ache all down the inside and my back aches - which my doc said is all to do with AF and the way your pelvis moves etc.

Has anyone experienced this since coming of pill and TTC?

Ouch!! They sound really quite painful

My best friend had severe probs with her periods & ended up on medication, she would go through 4/5 pairs of knickers a day as so heavy & full of clots

I'll drop her a text & find out what the reason was & what the outcome was

Thanks honey. Im leaking thru super tampons and having to change each time i go to loo. Ive never normally slept with tampons in either and never ever had any accidents. But now i have to otherwise its gonna look like a blood bath. I darent google it as i dont wanna worry myself xxxx

BOO....HISS...Google....everything should be banned but shopping :)

Just text her so as soon as she replies, I'll come back to you

I can't imagine what they are like hun but feel for you cos normal period pains are bad enough :hugs:

I know it's hard but try not to worry too much

Right hun, she's replied. Her mum had the same thing as what shes got & basically its her body haemorrhaging & their outcome was/is not so good although wouldn't have to have for a long time

I'd get an appointment with your GP just to double check as it may not be the same for you

Omg I just made things sound awful, I'm so so so sorry if I've made you worry more, didn't mean to my lovely

Hmmm yes, that sounds awful.....i think ill book myself into the docs if i can, im working Mon-Sat for the next 3 weeks. What have they done for your friend? Can she have babies? xxxx

I was just thinking that i bet she wish she'd used google now :oooo:

Chaz, i think you periods kind of sound like my normal periods.

I've never been on the pill but if you suddenly get a lot more pain and bleeding, it will be quite shocking.

I only use super/super plus during my period and for about two days of it i have to change every time i go to the loo.

I get stabby pains in my bum and vagina and my back aches and i feel reallly nauseous - nothing seems to be wrong with me so far.

I do agree that if you are worried then go to the GP, but Kezza's friend seems to be suffering something hereditary and her friend mum obviously could have children still :)

Although she has the period problem, she has no problem with fertility & has 3 beautiful children, 2 girls aged 9 & 6 & 1 boy who's a month old

The only way to fix the problem as the doctor told her is to have a hysterectomy & I asked my friend when would she consider this & she said when the doctor forces her to, she said she has learnt to cope with them as it's a small price for having babies

You betcha, fertile bunnies this family is, "Reids" running about everywhere but has said that all the females on her mums side have the same problem

I should keep quiet sometimes, I just blurt everything out & make people worry like mad when I think I'm helping :(

Oooo thats reassuring that she has babies :) i did just google it and it and it described the "inner thigh" pain i have experienced that last 3 months, and suggets i get checked out by a doctor if this isnt the usual. Ill try book myself in when i have chance to escape work.

Louise - if you have experienced periods like this each month you must be a tough cookie lol. It only began to be painful and extremly heavy the last 3 cycles. I am changing a super tampon each loo visit, and if i cough i flood through and each of them is well and truly soaked. I used to be able to use regular tampons, and could last 6 hours without changing and the tampon wouldnt be truly soaked, which is why its concerning me a little. I would only use half a box of tampons each period and now im nearly on my 2nd box of super and i started on tuesday :( xxxx

I honestly didn't mean to make you go eek! hun, hope your heart is back in your chest where it belongs

I had the same problem after having an implant out.
Although mine settled down after about 6 months.

Hi Hun,

try not to worry, I can see my periods have changed since stopping the pill, I'm achy and crampy like you and I wasn't before, I do remember that's what I was like before the pill though.

My cycles are also changing from 38 to 32, and now I've just checked my calender and my cycle was 28 days last month- OMG I only just realized that!

I'm sure it's just your body adjusting, I think in some way it's a good as it shows your no longer affected by the pill.

xx

Hi, When I came off the pill my AF was all over the place, ranging from heavy to light. When on a heavy flow, I couldn't make it more than 3 hours without changing a super plus tampon.

I remember once waking in the night, my PJ's being soaked in blood, along with the bed sheets and even my husband had blood on him. We cleaned ourselves up and moved to the spare room until the morning.

Now they've settle down a bit, but for 2 days of AF I use Super tampon and change each time I go to the loo. The cramps I get now compared to when I was on the pill are much more painful too.

But as the others say, you're probably best to go see a doctor to get it checked out. No point in worrying yourself about it.

Hey, i know it can be normal for your periods to change ALOT over time, i know mine have, i used to have very irregular periods that were light and not painful, but now mine are regular and alot heavier and more painful.

Theres nothing wrong with a trip to the GP anyways to put your mind at rest. sorry your having a tough time.

xx

Hi hun i actually went on the pill to make my periods lighter so maybe the pill was making them lighter and they have gone back to normal now? I used to get the thigh pain...mine was just bad period pains! Get checked over to put your mind at rest though x

Im working 6 days a week now for the next 3 weeks, and by then AF will be due again, so im gonna wait and see how the next one is (but hopefully we will have a BFP) if its the same or worse ill defo book in, then i have 4 cycles to tell them about.

Thanks so much for your reply's, you have all put my mind at rest that it sounds 'normal' .

Maybe Baby - this cycle puts me back to a 28 day too rather than the 30+'s i have had and my last cycle being 26 days, maybe the pill is defo out of my system....

Kezza....you made me turn to the vino, but for that, i forgive you ;) xxxx

I'm not one to talk, i blurt stuff out too lol ;)

Wouldn't it be boring if we all just said the same thing all the time :)

I suppose it depends what you are used to :)

I would go to the doctor not because of the amount, but because of the sudden change.

Go to A&E if the blood is bright like it you cut your hand.
