Hi everyone,
I feel a bit silly posting this as I know what horrible times some women have went though on here but I am 15 + 5 days today and I just have this feeling of constant dread. I had a horrible pregnancy the first time around, always vomiting and fainting but in a way it gave me reassurance he was fine. This time round I have had no symptoms from the start. I was convinced for my 12 week scan they were going to say I had miscarried but it went perfect and now I'm exactly the same about my 20 week scan. (No 16 week appointment here) other than sore boobs when I first get out of bed and a dislike of chicken 😂 I have NO symptoms and I dont feel pregnant at all!
Does anyone else feel like this?
How high is the chance of losing this baby at this stage?
Should I see my midwife or am I wasting an appointment?
I honestly feel ill with worry 😢

I think it's totally normal to be anxious. To go from 12 weeks to 20 weeks is a long time aswell.
I had an appointment 3 weeks ago at 15+5 heard the heartbeat and still feel anxious even though I can feel small movements and then even more anxious when I feel nothing.
Can you book an appointment with a midwife just for reassurance or do you have a maternity unit that may see you. Here the epu sees you until 16 weeks then the maternity triage unit.
Even a gp appoiylntment they may be able to help x

I understand how you feel as I had ZERO symptoms until about 24 weeks.

Now at nearly 28 weeks hes kicking more and more.

if you feel concerned then book yourself an appointment with the midwife for reassurance and dont feel bad about it, this is what they do!

Thanks for replying.
I think I will call the midwife just for reassurance. I feel it's a really long time too. I get my scan at 19+3 weeks and then I don't actually see a midwife until nearly 24 weeks! The care is so different from my first pregnancy 😟
Hope you are keeping well x

Aaaw Stacey I totally know how you feel! I have my 20 week scan at 19+3 next week too and then won't see my midwife until 24 weeks. It's a really long time to go in between appointments! We booked a sexing scan for 16 weeks to break things up a bit, have you thought about doing that? Even if you are unsure if you want to know, they can always write it down and pop it in an envelope for you in case you change your mind? That way you get to see that baby is all ok and put your mind at ease.

If it helps, I was exactly the same - at every appointment I was expecting to be told the worst and all has been fine. My pregnancies have been completely different like you, very sick with first pregnancy and not much at all with the second! Turns out DS will be having a little sister! :D

Are you due in April lovely? Come and join us in the April mummies if you are :) or even if you're not! We're a lovely bunch and always around to put your mind at ease :hugs:

I think until after 24 25 weeks they don't see you as often and I'm sure it was the same in my 1st pregnancy but I was a bit blase about it all and working loads too as I was going to be a single parent. I'm pretty sure I'm getting seen every 3 weeks after Xmas just hoping it flies in.

Hope the midwife can reassure you x

The chances of mc post 12 weeks are massively reduced. I’d deffo recommend some private scans - they really help me. You definitely don’t get the same level of care in subsequent pregnancies which is a blessing and a curse I’ve found. What you’re feeling is quite normal, maybe give your MW a call just for a chat and bit of reassurance? X

Hi, I'm sure all is fine, a miscarriage after 12 weeks is so rare and would surely have some signs of severe cramping ? I had no symptoms with my first pregnancy, you are lucky ! (I know you don't feel it though!!) I have been really sick but now the sickness has stopped like you , i had a brief panic if all is alright especially as i cant feel even the slightest bump. However I do have a doppler! So i can check the heartrate. have you thought about getting one for reassurance when you are feeling panicky? you can use it every day if needed!

I have anxiety and suffered the same until recently. I'm now 24 weeks and much more relaxed.

Speak to your midwife team. They are usually happy to offer reassurance

Thank you everyone for your replies. I am now trying to convince the hubby a private scan is a good idea x
