Just thought I'd bore you all with my day in the life of ttc.
Today my DH had to submit his 'eh-hum' sample.
He did it at home then came downstairs with a brown paper bag. You then have to get it to the hospital within an hour. I sat in the car next to him with my arms round the brown bag to make sure it got there kept 'warm and upright'. He refused to go in and sent me instead.
I saw why straight away, most people who dont live as close to the hospital have to book a 'consultation room' to have their tommy tank in. (Big letters on the back of the letter forbidding you to use the reception toilets!
). Reception told me to take a seat and seated around me were 3 men, trying hard not to look at each other, drumming their fingers and pretending to concentrate really hard on Diagnosis Murder which was on the tv in the seating area. Even worse was a poor boy who came in with his v dominating wife/girlfriend, who said proud and loud "We have a consultation room booked!" while the boy kept his head right down and kept rubbing his hands up and down his arms.
Very soon though a nice woman who was very normal called me, I went into a room with her, handed her the bag, she asked me a couple of straight forward questions, said he had to see his doctor for the results and that was it.
Glad it's done. My husband found the whole thing v uncomfortable and doesnt want to talk about it or ever do it again (I havent told him he may very well have to as they often ask for a second sample 3 months later to check consistency!)
There you are - I just thought i would Care and Share
