Ohh very nice chick first, NO garlic lol, for obvious reasons, also flattering food to eat, nothing romantic about sucking in your spag bol unless you're in Lady and the Tramp go for something easy enough to make, chicken in the oven with a sauce, wrapped in tin foil in the oven for 50 mins, I love chicken tonights chicken chasseur.. Sweet potato mash is lovely too, and doesn't take long to do.. Xx
I don't think garlic's an issue if you've both had it. I can't stand people being in the kitchen with me so cooking together would be out for me. You want something that's minimum effort-maximum impact. So either slow roasted/cooked things that can be done well in advance or fast cooking things so you can spend a lot of time together. I did tuna with asparagus, new potatoes and homemade salsa the other day and it would work really well as a romantic main meal dish as it's quick to cook and tastes amazing! It's also quite light and summery so you could indulge in something heavier for dessert.
I'm the same Meeah, I don't eat a very wide range of foods, well no garlic is my thought, as wether you have both had it or not, If you're gonna be having a long talk about everything that's going to be the last thing you want to be worrying about is garlic breath
A pasta bake? That's quick and easy, you could switch it up by adding some chorizo if you like that? Asda do a lovely tomato and garlic pasta sauce for about 80p, although I have to siv out the lumps in it or a chicken and noodle stir fry? X
Ooo pasta sounds good! Just have to make sure nothing gets stuck in the teeth haha! I was thinking maybe a steak with peppers, onions and mushrooms and homemade wedgies? X
Yum that sounds great too, you can get a pepper sauce already made up in a tub to save a few mins too I can never make the pack up right ever! Are you doing dessert? X
Chocolate mousse is well easy to make and you can put it in the fridge before hand so all you have to do is put a bit of fruit (strawberrys?) on top and dust some icing sugar over it Looks fab and tastes lush.
I think Id also go for the meat, veg and sauce option. Nommy.
I made phil a romantic meal a couple of weeks ago and made:
Avocado and smoked salmon mousse with rocket and balsamis side
(Not very romantic but phil wanted it) steak and ale pudding
Individual double chocolate cheesecakes with raspberry sauce
Made with my delicate hands all of it so if you fancied any of them the first and second thing was really quick and easy!!!! And was made really early in the day! Main course was VERY time consuming and NOT very romantic!!! But tasty!!! X
