Well its about time I popped a birth story in here!

Due to 4 prev C-Section births, a bladder op and a tube repair op that was nr the same as a section in nov 2012 I was booked in for a section on 31 st oct 2013.

I was 36 weeks , nearly 37, On the morning of sun 20 th oct , I woke up and ran a bath, I went to the loo forca number 2 which turns out I didnt need it was just that kind of heavy feeling! and gush out came loads of blood ! it carried on coming so I rang triage and they wanted me to come in to be checked.

I briefly thought about having the bath first or at least washing hair over side, but thought best not. We dropped my daughter off at scout fishing on the way and i said I know were early but can I leave her now, the scout leader ( who I didn't know) must have thought I was a bit heartless! but i wanted to get to the hosp..

I arrived at triage looking a right scruffy mess! I gave a pee sample and they wanted my towel which after sitting in the car was soaked and with huge clotty bits on it, i covered it in paper towel as expected to walk down a corridoor full of husbands with that on show in bed pan of red pee!! Mmm nice.

I was monitored , baby fine and admitted to antenatel to be watched
They said id be staying till i had baby , prob later in week. I was just sitting there worrying about husbands job and who could have kids etc! I had a steroid injection to mature lungs on baby and should be another in morning.

I hadnt had any drink yet that morning, but was now nil to mouth, i had a mouth like a desert!
They finally put a fluids drip in late afternoon, which made no diff to my mouth ha!

The bleeding slowed but i was sitting down all day, everytime I went to the loo I stood up and was soaked in blood. At about 730/8 pm the doc came round and they had decided to section me as nearly full term. I burst into tears as they had seemed to be swaying towards later in week. I was going to just do it on my own so hubby could be with kids but rang him to give him the choice incase he could find some childcare and he might have bonded less by missing birth.

He had a mate of ours come round and arrived with just 5 mins to spare, he had a bad case of man stress/ man panic on!! They gave me gown etc and told me to remove pants! i said that was not going to work with a big mat pad between legs as i was bleeding!

The surgeon gave me a shock as she said she would open me up horisontally like normal and would prob also then cut up belly like they used to do in the dark ages!! Due to my expected scar tissue. I had an issue with this and she said it was her choice! She said othewise she might do another scar horisontally further up from my other one!! I had issues with this too but it was the better option.. This was really depressing...

We walked round to theatre and had to walk back as they were delayed
5 mins later we walked back again! And they started prepping me for spinal block. He was just starting to put it in when they stopped as a lady with a dodgy trace had come in and might need to queue jump me, they were very apologetic but I didnt mind, i was not really ready headwise to have my baby! After 10 mins wrapped in towel to hide bum and keep warm as they had sprayed me with cold stuff, panic was over , lady was fine and we were good to go. Spinal done, pants off!, canula, drips in, catheter in, screen up and go.

A last minute shift change thanks to that poor lady who was now fine, meant my nasty butcher surgeon went home and changed to a new one in theatre. It was a bit worrying her quickly reading my notes and asking if there was anything i needed to tell her, i have a long history!!
I told her my scar worrys and she was very happy to use my old scar!! Yayy my tankini days are good!!

Baby Roman Alexander Jones came out at 9:11 pm weighing a good 6lb 6 oz (exactly the same weight as his bigger brother at 39 weeks!). Hubby said I think its a boy, and had to ask for confirmation for me!!

He is just perfect, (his big sister Briony 11) got over lack of sister quite quickly, wed told her bump looked like a boy one from my shape!

His two big brothers, rhys 14 and toby 12 seem smitten and devon 2 , is not too fussed yet but has def turned into a naughtier fella!!

As much as I could do it again tomorow, my hubby would leave home, my body would give out to have any more ops! So im happy to enjoy feeling finished and family now complete

He went to scbu for most of the night with wet lungs, low blood suger, and low haemaglobin due to my antibodies, but was returned really quickly the next morning. He struggled to feed to start with and has folic acid syrup for 6 weeks to help while my antibodies are breaking down his red blood cells , he wont have them after 6 weeks.

My scar is just lovely, shes done a fab job and no sign of past work!! Ive recovered sooo much better this time, Im back down to my pre baby weight 9 stone 9 and may have flat bit where section was after some situps! ( was bulgy one side last time).

He is 4 weeks tonight, he weighs 7 lb 3 now and finally a child whos dark like me , the others were all blonde!!

Sorry for long story, im just sooo happy
