...I have had 7 mugs of RLT today...and haven't even had a BH!!! Lol. Oh deeaaaar!! I'm too scared to try EPO or anything because I've heard it can have bad side effects?! Am I being paranoid?! xxx

That sounds like a lot of RLT :) !!!! I've been taking the tablets and EPO capsules-not had any side effects from the EPO.

I'm taking a lot of both everyday, getting loads of bh's but no bad side effects.

Ive had two rlt in about two hrs today strong bhsasting 5 mins and coming in pattwrns evwry hr

6 cups? oh god you brave women, I could only manage 2 a day max with my son and I had to hold my nose and glug it down.
eurgh lol

I'm only on 2 a day. I don't think I've felt any BH yet... am I the only one not feeling them!?

Oh I might go and see some EPO too when this snow stops then, if you've found it okay! Thanks girls! Tbh, not really sure what happened yesterday - normally I hate RLT and can only just stomach one cup a day, but yesterday I absolutely LOVED it!! So I drank as much as I possibly could just in case I hate it again today! Lol!! SmallPurpleCat - I think I've only had one or two BH through my whole pregnancy. If my belly didn't move so much, I'd start to question if I am actually pregnant - or just eaten too many pies!! Lol!

oh went mad at me for having two in a row but the bhs came on strong but as rlt tones the uterus i wasnt suprised!! good luck with the epo xx

ive been having 6 RLT tablets & 4EPO tabs a day from 38 1/2 wks... felt maybe a few more BH's but nothing else....

n im still here at 40+6 :-( with no flippin baby!!! grrrr!!! lol

xxx

This may sound like a really stupid question but what is rlt and why do you need to drink it. I'm hoping it's ribena ha ha because I drink loads of that!

raspberry leaf tea it helps the uterus to contract

Its commonly believed that drinking raspberry leaf tea or taking raspberry leaf tablets will help to induce labour and as such this supplement is taken by many a pregnant woman keen to speed up their baby's arrival into the world. Unfortunately this is a misconception; raspberry leaf tea doesn't actually help to bring on labour at all. Having said this it is thought to have many other benefits for the birthing process and has been used as a labour-aid for hundreds of years.

The benefits

Raspberry leaf tea is nutrient rich and contains many of the vitamins and minerals necessary for a healthy pregnancy including vitamins A, C, E and B, magnesium, calcium and iron. Consuming raspberry leaf tea not only helps mother and baby to get all the nutrients they need but can also help to replenish a new mothers stores after the birth.

Raspberry leaf tea also contains the alkaloid 'fragine' which is said to strengthen and tone the muscles of the uterus, helping them to contract more efficiently during labour. Research has found that taking raspberry leaf during the weeks prior to delivery helps to shorten the second stage of labour by making contractions more effective. Some studies have also found that it reduces the need for an assisted delivery (i.e. an emergency cesarean or use of forceps or ventouse).

Sipping raspberry leaf tea during and after the birth is also said to help the uterus contract back down to size, reduce after birth bleeding and help initiate the let down of breastmilk.

While there hasn't been a huge amount of research into this area, the general consensus does seem to be that drinking raspberry leaf tea during the latter stages of pregnancy can help to make for a 'better' labour with few side effects.

How to take raspberry leaf tea

Raspberry leaf tea can be taken in tea bag, loose leaf, tablet or tincture form and is available from most herbalists and health food stores.

It is advisable to wait until the 32nd week of pregnancy before trying raspberry leaf tea as there is a concern that consumption before this time in the more fragile, earlier stages of pregnancy could lead to problems. Once you have reached the 32nd week of your pregnancy you could begin with one cup of raspberry leaf tea a day and gradually increase up to 4 cups or tables a day (although this may vary in accordance with the strength of the blend and the manufacturers instructions).

While there is no guarantee that raspberry leaf tea will help speed up the labour process, if you like the taste it might just be worth a try.

Wow thanks kellylou. You learn something new every day. I'll get some in for when I'm in my 30s :)

I quite like fruit tea and this is very similar just leave the bag in while you drink it gives it more flavour!

I never had any braxton hicks with my frist 2 kids - so anyone not getting them don't worry
I got them 3rd time from 20 weeks , lots of them but randomly, and this time from 22 weeks, lots of them but especially every time I move! I don't think it makes any difference if you get them or not, or maybee it does them but you don't feel them at all?

is it sad that I can't wait to start drinking RLT?

Also can you start taking Evening Primrose at the same time?

just letting you all know I found RLT in tesco for 1.69 for 20, is that chap or dear compared to holland and barrat etc?

mine was £1.49 for 20 in holland and barratt and at the time it was buy one get one half price and am on 2nd box now think I need to have another only had one so far!

oh tits :wall2: never mind bought two packs from sco's can I actually start the day I am 32weeks then? I am so excited

tbh dont think the offer is on anymore but still a good buy I would have gotten them there if I could find them in our store but they didn't have them. Did u get any epo or u not doing that?
