After being discharged from the epu and finally starting to feel more positive! Had a phonecall from the hospital as there had been a mix up with the bloods taken at my booking in appointment and they needed redoing. They said my bloods results taken before I had my mc earlier in the year show that I have rhesus antibodies at a level of 5.9 when they should be less than 0.01. So panicking now, they've taken more bloods to get a current reading of my antibodies.

Made the mistake of going on the nhs choices site to read up on rhesus disease and am panicking now! Anybody got any positive stories?

Think from what the hospital said if the come back high (which they will do), I will be classed high risk and monitored closely at the fetal medical unit at the hospital!

Feeling emotional!

Not sure it's the same thing, but are you Rhesus negative, or OH? And Did you have the anti d injection after miscarriage? I'm Rhesus negative, and my bloods came back with a number of other antibodies including anti d. In my case they gave me the anti d after miscarriage, so it was picked up with my next pregnancy at 8 week appt as it stays in your system for up to 3 months.

From what others have said, with any of the antibodies, they keep a close eye on you, and treat as required.

They didn't give me anti d after my mc as they don't give it if you mc before 12 weeks. Don't think they give me a big enough anti d after my daughter was born! X
I'm A-

Ok so you are Rhesus negative. So it's your natural antibodies they have detected. Not sure about the levels, but my midwife and consultant just said I would get an anti d shot at 28 weeks, then after baby born, and to come in if i take a knock to my bump.

I had anti d after miscarriage at 11 weeks, and also previous miscarriage at 7 weeks. Google is really scary so try not to look. I know it's hard, but they always seem to put the worst stories at the top.

There are a few Rhesus negative ladies at the moment. Maybe post in tri 2 and 3 to see if anyone else can give advice.

Congrats on your cupcake Daley!

I'm also Rhesus Negative but I never got told what level my antibodies levels are at and everything has been fine to this point & I'm due to have my anti-d injection on Tuesday.

And I'm not being monitored any closer than normal 1st time pregnancies :)

Good luck xx

Thanks, that'll mean you don't have an anybody problem xxx

I am A- and had a scare when pregnant. Turned out I didn't have antibodies but I did quite a bit of reading about it. Of course as you know it can be serious but it isn't always, the majority of babies are born with only mild side effects, ie needing a couple of days of light treatment. A lot depends on your levels as well as how well the baby copes with it. There was one lady on another forum who had been through four or five pregnancies with it and was only having slightly worse problems with her last pregnancy.

Dont worry, i have anti e , its with me from a bleedin pregnancy at 9 weeks with my second son, the last 4 of my babies ( inc him) have had mild jaundice, and a couple had blood thickness and low haemaglobin issues just caused by the red blood cells being broken down by my antibodies after birth, bi product being jaundice. 3 had light treatment after birth, and it may add a few days on your hosp stay. You have to stuff them with milk to flush out the jaundice

Just finished giving my son folic acid every other day for this as hes now 6 weeks of age and my antibodies will have just left his system.

They monitor you in pregnancy based on your levels. Its not the level but the jumping of levels really.
Anything up to titre of 32 is ok but at 32 they would check more

Thanks girls, feel a bit better about it now! Just waiting on my results to come back x

Glad your feeling a little better now Daley xx

Hope the levels stay low for you, keep us updated.

I got my results back a few weeks ago, I have anti d and anti g antibodies. Theyre keeping a close eye on baby. My 12 week scan went ok and Ihave another at the fetal medicine unit when I'm 16 wweeks to check for signs of anemia in the baby. X

Glad to hear it's going okay. Have they checked your antibody levels again?

Not yet, have an appointment on the 30th January, so should imagine they'll be done then x
