I always pre-make my bottles so I can just grab 1 and warm it when I need it but just now u think I gave my little one a bottle that had been in there for longer than 24 hours! Has anyone done this before? Should I be worried?xxx

As long as its cold should be ok for a few hours after but if it's over 30 hrs I'd tip it down the sink x

I'd make up bottles for that day but not for any longer than that tbh x

I poured boiled water into enough bottles for the day and left them to cool on the side and then added the formula as and when he needed a feed. No need to refrigerate just water x

I make mine up for the day and now and again I've given her one that's more than 24 hours but that only if she had a really low milk day but generally they are used up within the 24 hours

Its advised not give it if its been in fridge longer than 24hrs.
i make bottles up fresh as i need them just before my ds next feed is due so i dont do this, but i wouldnt leave it at long as 24hrs x

I have a it of paper stuck to a cupboard with every time I change the bottles so I dont forget :) x x

On the tins, it says milk powder only lasts 12 hrs in fridge and the water must be cooled for no longer than 30mins before adding milk (as then the bacteria in milk powder is killed)... And if that's wrong then I've been wasting my time this whole time and throwing out a lot of feeds unnecessarily lol

Ready made forumla lasts 24hrs in fridge though, and I'm not sure about expressed breast milk

Xxx

breast milk lasts 3 days in the fridge i think, could be 5 tho lol. and 24 hrs in the fridge is a maximum. ppl all do whatever suits them best and i think your baby will be fine i just wouldnt risk it often lol

I only ever refrigerate the water.

R has 210 ml now so we fill the bottles to 100ml, when he needs one we boil the kettle pour in the water to 210ml which makes it just the right temp and then add the powder.

The water on its own lasts 24 hours and we always change the bottles before then hence the paper so we know what each other is doing if hubby does it too :) x x x

I thought it was only 12 hours too so make bottles for the day in morning and before i go to bed i make her bottle for brecfast

If it is 24 hours im so starting to make them all in the morning cos the amount of times we forget about the kettle and end up staying up dead late to make her bottle for the morning cos takes too long to wait for kettle and all when shes hungry

Sorry if that veers off your question but a one off hopefully wont do any harm, i have re offerend a feed a bit longer than youshould from when they start and it did nothing x

We do the same! Lol so easy!

I always just poured all of my water out the night before then added milk as needed, heat up and feed. Didn't do mine any harm with bacteria from milk or water and there was no waste from 'expiring' milk, it's what my MW told me to do xxx
