Turns out my little man has reflux and has probably had it from day one, bless him we always thought it was colic and I'd pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I had a miserable baby who screamed all the time. It was picked up at the hospital when we were in with the septicemia. Now he's on gaviscon in every feed and he's a different child. Cant stop him smiling, its lovely. Thought I'd mention it as my health visitor is nothing short of crap and never even suggested it, hell she nearly killed my child with her ineptitude. Had even told her the day before Rowan was taken ill that I was worried he had diarrhoea and wasnt feeding :x

Miracle babe I totally understand your feeling towards your HV. Leorah also used to cry all the time and I knew it wasn't colic as it was always when she was pooing. After going to stay at the hospital 3x for observation and noone observing anything I finally broke down and insisted on seeing a specialist who examined her and said she had anal fissures, what he didn't tell me is that this is a common symton of a dairy and soy intolerance so she suffered for a further month until I researched the cause on my own. She was also like a different baby within 2 days, its fantastic isn't it? I really feel I have missed out on her newborn stage as it was just filled with worry and stress, I feel quite bitter sometimes but it has made me appreciate every moment from now on and I decided to forget the housework and everything and while she's awake I spend all my time playing with her!

I am so glad Rowan is recovering and has been diagnosed with reflux (at last!) and you can enjoy your wonderful son

Awww poor Leorah (do love that name). It makes me so mad that the docs/HV just dont seem to take us mothers seriously. WE KNOW when there is more to it and we are not OVER REACTING or being OVER PROTECTIVE I'm so glad you used your own initiative and did some research. Its such a lovely feeling when your able to make them better and they just look up at you with that trusting expression like you can make their little world complete. The look my little guy gives me makes me just melt into a pile of goo. It must be quite nauseating to see but I dont care :rotfl:
All the best Skatty hun and I hope little Leorah continues happy and healthy bless her, you are one fab mam xxx

im so glad that Rowan is getting better hun, i agree doctors are absoloute complete ****s, mylittle boy wouldnt be here today either if i listened to my so called doctor, its a shame these people with PHD and degrees etc dont listen to more of us Mums, we're the life savers not them yet they are getting paid a fortune, worrying that these people are basically in control of our health yet they have no conscience!
