Reassurance Please - need to call the midwife?

Thanks very much. Just out of interest, does anyone know when they can see or hear a heartbeat when you have a scan? the midwife didn't actually say why she knew that they were dead.

i think the heart starts beating in week 6.. BUT my doc told me they usually do scans later so they can get a clearer sound as they can miss it that early.

hi hun at 12 weeks they should have seen a heartbeat. i would ask to be talked through what they saw if you are comfy with this. when i had a missed m/c i was sent to early pregnancy unit and got talked thru scan and given advice on whether to have d/c or try natural etc. i was given a few days to consider all info and go back with decision. if you feel you are unsure of what has happened and need it explaining then ask them to do so. this will help you to understand more and also will help with your grief hun.
