VILE! I had my first cup yesterday and it was sick. Tastes more like blackcurrent lemsip to me yuck yuck yuck! At least its only one cup a day I spose just pre-warning any ladies on here who wish to take it xx
I like lots of strange teas though that most people think are disgusting so maybe its just me! You work in Holland and Barrett dont you? Just wondering when we should up the amount, they didn't have a clue in our one about anything really!
Sarah13 yeah I do, in our references it literally just says one cup a day in the last two months of pregnancy to tone the uterus and however much you like during labour, my boss reckons you could probably up it to two cups a day from about 35 weeks but I'm just gonna stick with one cup xx
Yeah I can't see it doing much harm upping it to two cups, after all it doesnt induce labour like some people think it does it just tones the uterus in preparation for labour so it'll hopefully be straightforward and not too painful. It takes a good six weeks to build up in your system
The capsules are stronger than the tea so we recommend taking capsules from 36 weeks. As much as I dont like the taste of the tea I hate taking tablets/capsules lol so I'll stick with the tea, I think i'll get used to it.
I've not tried it, but heard its meant to be rank, i'm really bad with things like that as anything I dont like makes me boke. I've decided i'm gonna wait til I finish work on Mat leave then start the capsules.
I quite like it I love blackcurrant lemsips and I think it tastes a lot like those. I normally hate all different kinds of tea, like the twinings fruit infusions, so I was really nervous to try it... I'm strictly an earl grey kind of girl! I made my brother try a cup with me, and we were both pleasantly surprised!
I want to start but take the capsules instead of the tea as I hate hot drinks! How many tablets should I take a day? Am I best to wait a couple more weeks before starting? x x
I started having two cups of tea a day straight away from last Monday/Tuesday so I was about 32+3 or 32+4. Over the weekend I started my tablets as well as it says from 28 weeks on the packet (although I didn't have any tea over the weekend, just the tablets). On the pack I have it says one table twice a day.
Hiya, we advise from 36 weeks. That's what our training courses and references have told us because the capsules are a higher strength than the tea. You can get different strengths, my supervisor at H+B starting taking the 400mg caps when she hit 36 weeks. Unfortunately she had to have a c-section in the end (baby was breech and wouldnt turn!) so I can't tell you whether or not they worked. xx
