Hi ladies.

My follie has reached 16 mm today but it still needs to grow on a bit so I'm still on gonal f til Monday and I've also been given cetrotide to do over the weekend to stop ovulation til they're ready to trigger. Iui should be done on Wednesday.

Anyways, I did my injection today (cetrotide) and it's the first time I've done it, never had to use it last cycle. My nurse told me it's the same as doing gonal f in that when you inject, you push the whole of the needle in. I did this and it actually really hurt! My gonal f injections have a bit of a sting but this was more painful the further I pushed the needle in. So my question is, do I really have to push it all the way in? I hold my hands up and say I am a wimp, I am dreading doing the next 3 injections over the weekend.

I will probably have to just do it and bear the pain of it (sounding like a major wuss now!) but it just felt too sore to be right if that makes sense. So I thought I'd see what other people think. :oooo:

I think you'll need to. I remember cetrotide stinging like anything... Horrible stuff...

Oh balls. I was afraid of that lol. Urgh!! Well let's hope this cycle is the one and I don't have to use it again. lol I know that must seem ott but it stung like hell. One down...3 to go.

Thank you for the reply btw! How are you scotch? X

It doesn't seem over the top, I had several tantrums over the stuff! I'm praying for you too, always here in the background wishing for things to work for you.

I'm great. It's worth keeping fighting for and I'm grateful every day. In many ways the journey we've been on makes me appreciate the tough times as much as the fabulous ones.

Sending you so much love xxx

Aw thank you, that's so lovely. :friends:

I'll bet it does, can imagine that it must make it all so worthwhile and I keep reminding myself it'll be worth it. This cycle has really dragged its heels, I'm glad we finally have a date for the IUI. I'll be so glad to stop injecting for a while! But it'll be worth it.

Thank you Scotch. xx

Yeah it needs to go all the way in. I used an ice cube afterwards to take away the sting
Best of luck x

I got a massive (and I mean MASSIVE) bruise from cetrotide one day it bled and I must have hit a blood vessel, but other days it was fine. I think standing up to do it rather than sitting really helped me x

I was told I could do them in my legs, the same as I've been doing for the gonal f... But I read the leaflet this morning and it said to do them in my belly. Have I ballsed it up??? The nurse didn't say I had to do it in my belly. Little bit confused!
The one I did this morning was ok, not as bad as my first one at all. The only difference being that I didn't use the alcohol swab as I'd read online that it can lessen the sting. So I tried it and it was less painful. Hmm. Still dreading tomorrow's! Don't know if I could do it standing up. Worth a try I guess. :) x

I don't think it matters, I was always told we could do either. Belly hurts a LOT less though

good luck this month! luv seein lttc get there bfps an so hope you get one this time xxx

Phew! I've done them in my legs so far, thank goodness I've only got tomorrow's to do, then the trigger injection and I can finally hand my sharps box back. :faint:

Did my ovitrelle at 3am, so no more needles full stop! Feels a bit weird when you get to that point where you stop injecting it feels like you're not doing anything anymore and I hate twiddling my thumbs! I guess I have the progesterone pessaries to look forward to after Wednesday.... Not! :faint:
