Has anyone got/had Psoriasis... if so, what treatment do use use.have used to get rid of it???

I have just found out I have it..and its bloody awful!

The doctor gave me Canesten and tar bath lotion and neither have worked so I have to go to see the dermatologist next week... I just want rid of it..its embarressing! :(

I haven't but an ex of my did.
He was given sun treatment (sunbed) and prescription steriod creams. This was about 10 years ago so don't know if its still recommended as far as tanning beds are concerned. But the sessions did help clear it up. It will never completely go but he could soothe and manage it.

He also used a dead sea salt mud product thing  Not sure what its called, but I can ask him for you if you want to try it.

My Mam started to suffer from it after her pregnancy with me, though it wasn't serious. She got by with gentle soaps and E45. She also used a tanning bed for awhile but stopped when she felt it was causing more damage to her unaffected skin. Stress of course made it worse.

Iv got it, use steroid creams. It doesnt clear it completely but it does calm it down quite a bit.
It really is awful, I have it on my scalp the worst so obviously I get a lot of dry skin over my clothes :puke:

I have a similar skin condition but is called Mycosis Fungoides and is a rare cancer of the immune system (part of non hodgkins family) and typical visual symptoms of this is similar to psoriosis.

Ask your doctor for referal for UVB treatment - its like the sunbed but only UVB rays - that helped me a lot. My specialist confirmed that this is generally fine whilst pregnant but you should ask your GP first.

to relieve dryness and the uncomfotableness that accompanies, I use diprobase that you can get on prescription or at boots (I think Ive seen it there now next to E45 etc). its a gel/cream formula is is so moisturising.

I also have to use elocon steriod cream to take itchyness away but that is only on prescription.

I hope you find somethign that helps you.
