Raaarrrr! I was really hoping Paige wouldn't get it :( it's starting on her bak, just like mine did. It doesn't seem to be bothering her so should I bother taking her to the doctors? It's over her back, her shoulder ad starting down her leg as well.

My hv is coming round on Thursday so should I just wait and ask him what he thinks. When she first got a dry patch I asked one of the hvs about it and she said babies can't get psoriasis :wall:

Anyone with any experience?

Awww I dunno hun, I've never had any experience. I would defo mention it to HV tho. I hope it's just an allergy rash or something more simple iykwim xx

hun my little girl had it in the most severe form from 4 weeks old and was hospitalised many times because of it. i must root out pics for you i had her at every doc under the sun and finally found one that cured her. if you can go to tesco or asda and look for aveeno oatmeal based moisturiser it is fantastic the aquias and silcocks cream can act as an insulator and actually make it worse so try stay away from it another tip is when your bathing her put some oats into a pop sock and tie it so they dont escape and put it in the bath water it takes the inflammation away sounds a bit mad but works. i hope she only gets it mild poor little thing xxxx

found them ones of when she was in hospital and one is her now its not the end of the world just keep on top of it and she will be fine xxxx

Your little girl was so brave its just crazy. I can't remember how bad mine was when I first got it but my parents said it covered my torso and my legs. Luckily Paiges was only a tiny bit first off but over the past week or so its probably tripled in size and started off just rough skin (which I know is how mine starts if I get a new bit) but now its proper patches.

I put some oilatum on her after her bath tonight and Im going to put more on in the morning. She had a big red patch on her back where I think she was trying to scratch it :( Ill have a look for the moisturiser when Im next out  I used to have to get steriod cream every winter for mine so like you say, hopefully she'll just get it mild. xx

im sure she will be fine. What i found with rose was hers got worse when i used to work the docs told me it was stress related funny shes cured up now i am at home all the time. x

Stress totally brings it on! O bless her, she just wanted her mum to be at home :) Maybe it's Paiges teeth that have just stressed her out a bit and brought it on. I might make her some jelly tomorrow. Jelly is good for the soul.

Jeeze Amy- only time I've ever seen it that bad is my mums! What a brave little soul she is! Does she still get any now or has it just completely cleared up?

Def get that HV put straight too, August, even if it just means they're not palming off other kiddies with psoriasis as just having a bit of a rash - stopping years of itchy torment there =D

With what you've said over your LO getting it bad while you we're working, Amy, has made me like 110% sure I want to be a stay at home mum now! Mum and Granny have it awfully and me and my Nana get it in patches and under our nails, guna try everything I can to make sure I avoid our baba getting any for as long as possible- 'spesh if they end up with in under their nails - dislocated shoulders hurt less =[

xxxxxxx

Hi luw!
Rose Had it under her 2 big toenails it lifted the nails away from the bed and turned them yellow. she is totally clear now has been for around a year she does still get tiny patches on the tops of her legs but its easily fixed. I didnt mean to put you off working hun maybe it was just the trigger in Rosies case xxxx

Wasn't our plan for me to go back to work anyway, work wares me out as it is and I'm paid in peanuts so we couldn't really afford nursery as it'd cost my wages and then some to pay for it and It'd mean baba spending more time with my nana then me as I can work until 9 somedays but not at all others, but dont know which and when until mondays.
If I could trust my work to only give me shifts between certain times of the day I'd go back because I do love my job, but they're total airheads in the office so you never know and once you've got a shift it has to be done =[

xxxx

I have had psoriasis for year's, at the moment with the weather constantly changing it's inflamed and really bad at my elbows at the minute, hacking and stuff. I have tried every cream doctors can give you, i have been in the hospital for month's getting creamed and getting tar on. I also had the uvb light to try and help. Now when i was in hospital it was severe, i was covered from head to foot. the treatment in the hospital helped, but only so much, i left hospital to go to gran canaria on holiday, i came back with nothing on my skin! literally, the sun cured it !! the minute I came back here, it broke out again and has never went away since. It's nowhere near as bad, i only have it on my elows and a knee. But the past week or so, it has started to come out on my scalp, face, back and on my forearm and hand, little spots of it at the minute, so I am back on cream. There is no cure for it, not yet anyway, all you can do is keep trying creams and hopefully it will keep it at bay. sometime's it will not bother you as much and then it will flare up again. Just have to get on with thing's. It's so sad to see such young children getting it though, but it's not a disease, so , it could be worse ! xx

it is awful isnt it hun i feel for you. i used to cry when i would see Rosie so poorly with it. I actually found with her the heat made it worse and she actually calmed down in the cooler weather. she never took to the steroids and was on such a strong dose for so long they were afraid it would affect her growth. x

I find putting my cream on and lying under a duvet in the heat soothes it at times, other time's it makes it so itchy, it can be unbareable! my son is 7 month's old, I havent noticed any dry skin or anything to worry me with his skin at the moment, and I hope he never get's it as it can be hurrendous, an especially for such young children. Children are so mean these day's and could hurt a child so much with nasty words. My psoriasis broke out when I was, think I was 15/16. It was sos awfull, people would stare at me if i walked about in the sun with a vest top on and shorts ( i was covered from head to foot), i oculd see them laughing. I got so upset about it, which makes it worse, as stress, etc can inflame it. My aunt, who died of cancer a few years ago, she had psoriasis for year's and then it just dissapeared and never came back, she believed it was all to do with the mind!

So you never know, your children could get it the now, but it could dissapear or only be a slight occurance of it as they get older. I hope so anyway. You just have to make sure they know that there is nothing wrong with them, they are no different to anyone else. It's only a skin complaint, not a disease. If people want to look, then let them look, they obviously dont understand what it is and are just evil people if they laugh at them. They should laugh back!

I know it's a horrible thing for you're child to have this, but it cant be helped! All I can say, is hopefully it get's milder as they get older xx

Rosies face was covered at one point and her eyelids so thick she actually was unable to open them. I used to break my heart seeing people stare at her she was always beautiful and always will be. I put her on a daily dose of piriteze as it help with the itching and inflammation she was very young but it was recommended by her specialist. for anyone who has it i would say try the aveno cream it is fantastic you would never think it would work but i promise it does. x
