Jack was due on 17th June and Father's Day was 19th. I actually went into labour on Father's Day but didn't give birth until 20th June but because I knew he'd be born around the day I bought him a 'i'm the Daddy tshirt and a CD with a Daddy's Day card. I doubt i'll buy him anything this time round because baby's due mid Feb. Plus i'll be buying gifts for Jack and the newbie to give to each other instead x

I really like Katey123's idea of a mould of baby's foot or hand into a keyring though.

I spoke to my OH about this earlier and how he felt about men getting gifts and he was gob smacked that we might even consider getting Dads a present and said he wouldn't want anything the baby was enough. However, I think it would be nice to get him something small as a token gift especially as he won't be expecting it.

Ive ordered a present for Granny who is my birth partner in theatre but wasn't sure what to get for Daddy. Granny is getting a Daisy Sphere of Life pendant. I want one too

I want something special to say thank you for giving me the most wonderful gift. Can't afford much so I think I may look at the keyring idea.

My friend make up a little box last year when she had her LO. It was a Daddy's survival Kit for when mummy was in hospital. She put things like I'm the daddy mug, socks, pics of them together on their wedding day, his fav sweeties and his fav tv show on DVD and left a bottle of wine in the fridge saying "Open me when I arrive". Very sweet.

Thinking I may do something similar actually. Maybe be some things left over in the shops from Fathers day seeing as it wasn't that long ago.

Also - what a bout a card from somewhere like Moonpig or Funkypigeon? I'll be in hospital for 3 days so I have the app on my iPad and thought I could get this done and posted out the next day. I maybe look into getting it ready and saved in my purchases ready to add a picture!

I think its a lovely idea! I might get something really father-like, maybe a jack daniels hip flask or something. All dads need to have a hip flask! Have it wrapped in the labour bag and then if he needs a strong drink it'll be brilliant timing! xxx
