Hi girls I was wondering if any one has had this or knows anything more about it? I don't want to rush off to the midwife and its for nothing she makes me feel like I am wasting her time enough on my usual appointments !

So I have had pretty bad swelling on my hands feet ankles and face the past few days (But I know this could just be fluid retention) My ankles and legs have been really sore too.

I have been seeing little black floaty dots and white ones here and there but I am not sure if thats me just thinking of pre-eclampsia and my mind is playing tricks on me? I have had a few headaches aswell.

Got the midwife on Tuesday should I just hold off? Cause I think it might just be my mind, just wanted you girls opinions :) xx

they are all signs hun ive never had it so i dont knwo for sure i would just ring so they can check you out better to be safe than sorry xx

I had it with my last little baby :(

I had really bad swelling but no protein and only occasional high bp. My blood tests were fine too until the day I was induced. My bp shot up to 200/130

So my advice hun is to ring your maternity unit and see what they say. They might want to take your bp, dip your wee and take a blood test x

Defo think you should ring Hun, who cares if you are wasting their time, it's better to be safe than sorry and you'd rather feel bad about time wasting than feel bad if you do nothing and it turns out to be PE! Put your mind at ease n ring for some advice xx

Agree with the girls, give them a call. Plus its their job hun. Let us know how it goes!

x

Don't hang around. Phone your labour ward/midwife. They may need to check you over they sound like classic signs to me.

i had pre-eclampsia from 34w. First spotted at midwife appointment when they found 2 protein. Bloods were normal till i was induced at 37w. but my protein shot up to 4 protein! Hospital said they'd never seen anyone with so much! I had no swelling but my BP was all over the place. They warned me that if i had flashing lights or blurry vision then to call immediately! I've still got pre-eclampsia now!

Im on blood pressure tablets now and they are constantly monitoring the protein which is still in my urine. If u do have protein it can make your placenta stop working properly which is why my little man came out at 5lbs!

Please get checked hun! xx its really not worth the risk for your bubba or you! xx

Please get checked straight away hun.

I had my LO at 34 week by emergency c section due to pre eclampsia. I noticed the swelling on the Sunday evening but ignored it until Monday lunch time. By the time I phoned and went up to hospital it was 2pm and I was so unstable I had to have a section that afternoon. Luckily both me and Alana were fine (although she weighed just 3lb 4.5oz). I don't mean to scare you, mine was a severe case, but the whole experience has taught me that you should never take any chances or worry about wasting anyones time because it is better to be safe than sorry!

Hey, if your worried call the NHS direct and they are really good at advising you on things and easing any worries if you don't want to bother your MW; or just call your MW as she has a responsibility to you. It might be nothing, but is always better to be safe then sorry... you could see how it goes over night and if worried in morning, make contact with her. xx

crimson signed out of PF just after posting this and having a few replies.... Im guessing she called the MW for advice.

Hope she was told to just rest and so hasnt come back on and nothing is wrong.

Sending :hugs:

Hey girls midwife was useless as usual, she said flashes can be normal in pregnancy and my swelling is likely water retention (she is v.v.old fashioned midwife) Might give NHS a phone tomorrow, but she will defo be checking my blood pressure and wee on tuesday anyway, so hopefully NHS might be better xx

 Im surprised your midwife didnt want to check your BP today. Could you ring your GP surgery and ask to see a nurse to quickly check your BP? Explain youre having a few symptoms and it would put your mind at rest. Good luck

I know, my midwife is really useless, there has been a LOT of complaints about her for example she had a go at a girl for having a baby because she was borderline obese and her man was of 'african ethnicity' calling her a disgrace and what not!

Hoping she isn't in tomorrow, but going to phone NHS a bit later on, only had 2 hours of sleep due to severe backache and see if they want me to go in and get checked cause the baby hasn't been kicking as much as usual either, need to wait until 4 though because can't get a car just incase until then xx

She does sound useless hun. Let us know how it goes when you call. X

So called the hosp and they said its just my stage of pregnancy and its me just being fed up and I am to go and rest and drink plenty of fluids... it apparantly takes you to be dying to actually get checked out around these parts! Just hope my midwife isn't in tomorrow and its a replacement and she can tell me something, surely I shouldn't be seeing black dots all the time ? xx

I thought they'd at least check you out just to put your mind at rest! Are you seeing the black dots all the time or is it just when you look at something white or you're in the sun or bright light? I just get it looking at like a white door or when its really bright

x

No its really been all the time, I was thinking maybe it was just when I looked out the window and then at something else but nope just sitting doing nothing and these random black floaty spots! If it turns out I have anything wrong tomorrow at the MW I am not going to be pleased how I have been ignored tbh! x

Crim that's not on that, I've had cold past week but over weekend ice felt really poorly very similar actually, black dots thirsty tired Ed aches tummy ache n feeling sick, I phoned my midwife at 10. 30am this morning n by 11.30am she had come to my home n checked my bp n wee

If ur not happy tomorrow start demanding u get checked for ur own piece of mind if nothing else, ho n turns out I'm fine, got a sick bug that's going round on top if a cold x x
