Was never into keeping fit pre pregnancy but now I definitly want to get fit once baby is here, not just for me but so I'm able to keep up with baby and be able to run up hills with pram  What did you do after your pregnancy? I am willing to try anything so let me know what you found most effective x

Great thread! I would like some sdvice on this too. I lost alot of weight in the first few weeks just off breast feeding and generally running around after a newborn, but if there are any specific programmes to follow, that would be great xx

That's what I was thinking, breastfeeding is supposed to be a great help to lose baby weight but I think I will definitly need some extra little tips and tricks to get rid of my mammoth love handles

I am like a whale already! My 'back fat' is horrendous  all i want is to get back into my 12/14's i don't want miracles lol I am going on holiday 4 months after the baby is due so i would really like to look half decent in a bikini too xx

Ahh is that the bit below your bra strap? I have that and a inny bit and then the love handles are just in your face  I will be the guinea pig of all the suggestions and will let you know which ones worked best, I will be aiming for bikini fit too, I want to bring baby swimming as soon as all injections have been had!xx

I just watched what I ate. With my 1st 3 (all in my teens/20's) the weight fell off. Not so much with the youngest 2 though :wall2:

I never followed anything in particular other than calorie counting/healthy eating

You'll need to wait until your 6 week post natal check to start exercising, but until then the best thing you can do for your body (especially if BFing) is to eat healthy. Make sure you're getting a good amount of protein and good fats to help milk production. You shouldn't avoid carbs, but just make sure you're being healthy with it (ie a quinoa salad or sweet potato chis rather than a chippy). Carbs are important while you are BFing and remember that you will need an extra 500 calories a day.

Once your post natal check is ok, then the best thing I can recommend is the gym while your OH watches LO. If a gym isn't for you, then look in your area for abuggy class where you can take LO with you. If there is a pool in your area, check if they do an post natal class.
