Can anyone give me some advice on losing weight but cheapily.
I don't really eat fatty foods and eat fruit and veg when I can.
Its sad to say it but I can't afford any of these diet clubs. I have a wii and most of the wii exercise/fit games but dont use it as much as I like as don't seem to have the time, as if I am not doing long shifts at work I am with Esmé.
Whenever I decide to go into town I'd rather walk with the buggy then take the car (So I am getting exercise).

I'm sorry for my rant but I really want to lose weight but it don't seem to be going anywhere. I was slim up until I was 18 and since then I have always had issues with my weight (up and down).

Thanks for listening and thanks in advance for any responses xx

Did you try not eating after 6/7pm? It requires discipline at first but once you get used to it, it's great. But you need to make sure you eat properly during the day. Cutting down on carbs seems to do the trick for mist people, esp at dinner time. And no late munchies

I've also cut down on my portion sizes and that seems to help. Also making sure I have a filling breakfast so I don't snack during the day! That's helped me. I'm cutting down and counting the calories at the moment, only been doing it for 2 weeks and have only lost 2 pounds so can't say whether it's working yet or not. But like you I can't really afford diet clubs.

Some advice I was given from a body builder was to watch the salt in take on foods when dieting because the body stores the salt in reserve when losing fat and that can then turn in to fat or add weight or something???? Not sure how true this is though but thought that avoiding large amount of salt in foods can't hurt.

Good luck!

Hey on reading this started my wee brain thinking cos I recently went to a body building competition and was listening to what diets they followed for the competition and so I googled. This is what I found

Salt does not cause your body to gain or lose fat. In fact, salt has no calories. High consumption of salt only results in temporary weight gain as it causes your body to retain water. Conversely, low consumption of salt can result in temporary weight loss as it causes your body to expel water.

I recently went along to Slimming World and I know this isn't possible for you but this is some of what I have learnt so far: -

You want to cut down the amount of fat in your diet - even down to cutting all visible fat off meats, limit the amount of bread, milk and cheese you take, eat as much fruit and vegetables as you want (try and incorporate into every meal to speed up weight loss), making chips out of potatoes, boiling for 4 minutes, leaving to dry for 10, spraying with one cal spray and baking for 25 mins, drink plenty of water. Thats only the tip of the ice berg but hopefully will help.

Exercise is crucial in any diet, not only helps to speed up weight loss but also helps with the toning. Try to build this up bit by bit. Even if you start out walking for 15 mins 3 times a week.

Hope this has been of some help. Good luck. xx
