Ok its been 3 days and I still cant go, I need to go, but when i try it just hurts so much and makes me scared to do it :rotfl:

Midwife told me to drink loads of water which im doing, and its making me need to go more, but i just cant do it :wall:

i guess it hurts every one? but how did you become brave enough to do your first poo after delivery? Im thinking i may take some laxatives and then i wont really have a choice?

Help

Doesnt help i had a look at my damage this morning and nearly fainted  looks a bit like a butchers been at it. they explained to me where the tear was and how big it was but i wasnt expecting it to be sooooo big. plus the graze looks evil :rotfl:

I did mine less than 24 hours after delivery with a 2nd deg tear and loads of stitches. I just sat on loo and waited no pushing  nothing, took about 30 mins

Hi,

I had the same problem, I had not been able to go for 5 days after giving birth. When I tried it resulted in haemmeroids (sp) that really hurt. In the end I went to the docs on Thursday and they gave me Lactulose. After taking the Lactulose I was able to go and felt so relieved. It is horrible not being able to go I kept thinking my insides were going to fall out lol :rotfl:

Crystal xx

ok thanks ladies.. i will take some senna now and hopefully will be able to go tonight. i think ill move the laptop into the loo and just sit there and hope lol

and lisa your not helping     least i can sleep :rotfl:

they didnt hurt.. but the last few ones i've had have been eye-watering sore!!

Was just going to say, use a pad to support you, you wont 'need' it but it will make you feel supported. I drank loads of fresh orange and ate weetabix everyday! Try not to leave it much longer - it wont make it any easier

i actuallyhad problems for about 6 months after. (only just feel like ive gone back to normal, just before im about to bloody do it all again)

My only anvise is lots of orange juice. :(

OMG I am dreading the post-birth poo
Took me a few days and it was horrid, I can only suggest praying, because no laxative or amount of food/drink advice did anything :( Olive oil around your bumhole (sorry) may help, very very best wishes, I really do feel for you

I was so scared to poo at the hospital after giving birth that I took my mum to the loo with me  and for some stupid reason the day after I'd given birth and they brought round the dinner menu I thought it would do me good to order brussel sprouts with my dinner  My poor mum

I also held a pad there while I went

Must be just me then that had no problems pooing the day after I'd had him. It worries me a little that now, when I need a poo, I *really* need a poo, it can't wait. Don't really know who to speak to about that :?

Do you know, this is really quite common, go to your gp they can refer you for physio, in the meantime, dont forget your pelvic floor excersises

I waited 6 days, and had lactulose solution prescribed to help soften it all up.

Might be worth asking the midwife for some of you're waiting much longer xx

I went after 6 days without any problems. All the worry was over nothing.

I had a 2nd degree tear and loads of stitches so I was really scared. xxx

I didnt have any problems with pooing with Imms. It just kinds fell out :rotfl: :rotfl:

I just gripped the toilet with stephen and hoped for the best, I didnt push though, i just went with the flow, excuse the pun!

Senna is not advisable if BF as it can cause baby to have diarreah, you can use dulcolax tho as that stimulates ur bowel & is not actually a laxative. I use it as I have IBS and struggle to go loo... luckily I had runs after labour so no pushing

Think I was about 3 days... it was after I left hossie.... cos the nurses would come in everyday and ask if I had poo'd and would do it infront of guests  ...I didn't need to go because I'd had chronic diaherrea for weeks before I popped so was "empty", but it wasn't that bad when I finally went....

I have to eat weetabix everyday and drink loads...I'd have issues otherwise now... but its because I don't feel the need to go due to a constricture in my small bowel that slows everything down. I have bleeding now when I go, but its not piles... it has to do with my crohns... but it really hurts.
