I'm only 8 weeks so bit early, but I keep running names through my head! lol

I really like the name Etholle (pron. Ettolie)....I haven't ask DH opninion yet as we are not really discussing names this time (after 2 miscarriages). But anyway, I like the name, but worry about the spelling and everyone pronouncing it wrong - like first day at school and the teacher calles out Eth-ole! or something silly......

Do you think I could spell it how it is pronounced (if we have girl and if DH likes it of course!).

I've never heard that name before and it is pretty but I did read it as Ethol at 1st.

exactly what I don't want.....so thought of spelling it how it's pronounced! :)

It's like names like sioban - said nothing like it's spelt! lol

The pronunciation spelling is almost Etoile which is French for star. I quite like that! xxx

I agree with both buggy and dotty , pretty name tho

If you really like the name, I'd be tempted to go for spelling it like it's pronounced then you don't constantly get it pronounced wrong or everyone saying "how do you pronounce that?" and having to spell it out all the time. Granted, you may still get that with an unusual name however ou spell it! xxx

I think it's unusual enough for you to easily get away with spelling it how it's pronounced. I've never heard of it, but it's a really pretty name.

I've never heard of it before. I certainly wouldn't have pronounced it the way you say it is, so I would guess a lot of people would say it wrong.
Regarding the spelling - I'm torn here, as I don't like 'made-up' spellings. Yet you will probaby have a life time of correcting people if spelling it as above. Is that the original spelling of it?
I'm not being much help, am I? Sorry!

Very unusual, never heard of it before. I like more unique names. It makes your child stand out. I really like it
