We had our Bourne Hall consultation appointment this morning and saw a nice, upbeat consultant and we've decided we're going to try a natural iui cycle after my next one and if that doesn't work we'll try IVF August/September as we have a holiday in July. She feels we shouldn't jump to IVF just yet given my good egg reserve and because hubby's sperm isn't too bad at the moment and to take advantage of the potentially good after effects the lap should give me for a few months. Mixed views as part of me wanted to just crack on with IVF but I know this is the sensible approach. If we end up going to IVF we'd have been ttc for 2 years and that'll be enough! I also don't want to use all our money on iui as the chances of success are a lot lower but one go seems a good compromise, though we may have to abandon it if I ovulate on the bad tube side that month...we'll see, things will be happening at least! xx

Sounds like a positive plan, hope it all goes well and you ovulate on your good side :)

I'm sure having a plan will let you mentally and emotionally prepare. Will this cycle be beginning in june then? x

It will be the cycle that starts the middle of May as my AF is due this weekend and we'll try naturally this month and the iui after that so I will be my iui 2ww the first 2 weeks of June. Feels real now, eek! Xx

Thanks Naomi! Is that a wee little blue baby I see in your profile pic? Congratulations :-) x

Good plan Dee it's good to have a plan of action I bet you get caught next cycle when your waiting for treatment! Xx

That's good that you don't have to wait ages for IVF now. I had IUI to prepare me a bit for IVF otherwise it feels like jumping in without a clue!
How are you feeling after your laparoscopy now?

It's still feels ages, hard keeping perspective! Feeling ok thanks, still a bit sore though below my tummy button and one of the incisions is taking ages to heal and I'm having a heavy crampy period...otherwise fine!!!

Where are you at with your IVF? Xxx

The drugs arrive this week and I start them next week when AF arrives! Feeling quite nervous now!

Oooh it's close then! What protocol are you doing? I'll have to do a slow one I think as I'm at risk of over stimulating xxx

Its a long one starting with The Pill instead of injections which suits me fine! Its so that the clinic can get me to take as many as they need for them to schedule the appointments on weekdays! Then the injections start after the 1st scan.
I'm bit concerned that the drugs used to stimulate my ovaries might have the same effect as the clomid might have done and cause what they thought was the hydrosalpinx. But I'll try not to worry unnecessarily!

I assume they'll scan you so much they'll be able to see if anything untoward is happening, scary but exciting! Xx

That's true! It would have to be abandoned if that happened. And if they saw a blocked tube at egg collection stage they would drain it apparently so that we could carry on.

Just awaiting AF next week now! Not sure if its worth doing a pregnancy test because the result is always disappointing!
