Well I bought a new bigger one.. for £60 We needed a bigger one anyway. I checked with the council first and they said as long as it fit on back of truck it was fine. I will definately be marking it next time, I wanted to get those flowery covers but OH says NO!

I have to say.. each time I have been to your house.. I have been strangely drawn to your wheely bin... it had a quirky kind of attractivness to it.. that stood out from all the other wheely bins on your road!!!!




Ours was nicked on bomby night... council replaced it free of charge!

Our last house was a new build and we found that the council wouldn't provide us with a bin - we had to buy one - so we said fine, we won't bother then and they said they wouldn't collect our rubbish if it wasn't in a wheelie bin! They're no better than the theiving gits that steal them if you ask me!!!!! (steps off soapbox and backs towards door....)

Is it a wheelie bin? This sounds totally random but true. My uncle's bin went missing and he is totally anal about keeping it clean and stuff so he was well pissed off. He thought someone had nicked it. He walked all along his road and the next to check and checked with all his neighbours. He went to his next door neighbour last who was gardening when the bin men came. Neighbour said he watched the bin get pulled up by the arms on the lorry and it FELL IN, along with all the rubbish! He didn't realise it was my uncle's so never thought to say.

He called the council and spoke to someone in the call centre who said it happens all the time and they sent him a new one the next day

Anyway Si has typed an email complaining using all your points (thanks girls) and hopefully they'll give us something back for cost.
