basically I've got my first period since giving birth and its REALLY heavy! I used to have heavy periods before my first born, but this is something else! It's literally pouring out of me, I can actually feel it. I'm having to change my pad every 2hrs, sometimes sooner. I've actually just bought maternity pads as sanitry towels aren't enough! Its really thin blood aswell. Is this normal? X

Mines been a lot heavier too and lasting a lot longer. Normal as far as i know.

It does sound like allot!!! I would leave it a few hours if its still the same book in a doctors appt you might have an infection brewing and its best to nip it in the bud just a few antibiotics and all sorted xxx

I've just had my first! A lot sooner than I thought too!!

I have never had a period like it!! Heavy wasn't the word!! I flooded for 8days!??!

I bled all over the bed 2 nights in a row. started it last Sunday, and seemed to be getting heavier every day so went to docs on Thursday. He said that it is quite soon but can happen. Also said it can normal for 1st one to be quite heavy, but if I'm still bleeding as heavy by next week, or if I start to feel tired (well more tired than what is normal when you have a baby) to go back. The bleeding is still heavy but callming down, but today I have felt very lethargic so if I'm still feeling like this Monday morning I will be going back. Hope you are feeling okay? The things our bodies go through is unreal eh? x

Wow I wouldn't take that for an answer sounds like you have in infection babes ask for some antibiotics it's not fair to leave you like that and just say come back next week. I was left like that with my first and 1 1/2 months later ended up in hosp with drips as they didn't do anything and all I needed was antibiotics - if that isn't the case the antibiotics won't harm you but will rule it out - but hopefully work

Oooh fantastic I'm so happy for you (((hug))) fx next month won't be so heavy xxx
