Period-like cramps and brown spotting-ugh

Hi everyone!

So this is my third pregnancy, and I had no spotting in the first trimester with either of my first two. I'm somewhere between 4-5 weeks and I've been having period pains for the last few days and some more intense stretching/pulling cramps today. Then tonight when I wiped there was a significant streak of brown discharge. Since then there have been some spots of brown blood every time I wipe.

Also, the pregnancy test I took tonight is a tiny bit lighter than the one I took with fmu this morning. I know- I need to stop testing. It's just freaking me out.

I'm terrified. I want this baby so much and I have not experienced this before. I'm praying all is well. I am out of state (I'm in the US) for Christmas and can't see a doctor till the first week of January.

I'm obviously very busy with the 2 older kids and running around so that might be a factor.

Anyone else experience this?

I've heard it's fairly common for brown spotting to happen I think it's when it's gets heavier and/or red you should worry. But for now relax

The pregnancy test with fmu will be darker anyway so don't worry about that.
With the spotting, brown isn't too bad. In terms of seeing your dr first week Jan, that's not too bad anyway as if they scan too early, they might not see much.

Just like the girls said brown spotting i have heard is very common, its fresh blood that is the worry. you should be fine love just take things easy xx

Thanks I'm just so scared and on edge. I'm trying to talk myself out of taking more tests cause I know I'll just over analyze and freak out more. I ordered some tests and I'm gonna give them to my husband to hide from me when they get here. I am visiting family for Christmas and it's so hard having this on my mind 24/7. They all know what's going on and that I'm nervous. I want to relax and enjoy this time but I'm just so scared.

yeah its totally understandable I just think I am taking it as it comes, the whole of tri 1 is really hard work isn't it - I am very positive and am doing well at keeping positive but I can't help but worry at every twinge and every time I go to the toilet I check my underwear for blood! its madness but once youve moved onto tri 2 it will be much less worrying xx
