Has anyone else found metformin shortens your cycle length? Below are my most recent cycle lengths:
March 19 - 42 days
Apr 30 - 34 days
Jun 03 - 25 days
Jun 28 - 24 days
Jul 22 - 19 days

I'm going to book an appointment next week with the docs but just wondering if its time to come off metformin? I've been on it since Jan to regulate my periods so that I could start ttc July/aug this year. Any helper advice is greatly appreciated.xx

I was still on the pill when I took it to see if it changed my insulin issues so I can't help with saying if they changed my cycles but looking at your cycles there I'd say they definately are! I'd see it as a positive though as hopefully its worked. Fingers crossed your doctor can now prescribe something else (clomid maybe?) to help you ov x

Metformin was the magic missing ingredient for me! I have PCOS and had been on Clomid for months with no luck conceiving. However, two months after combining it with Metformin, I had my first 28 day cycle in years. Then the next cycle I got pregnant, so it does work :)

Good luck xx

Metformin did it for me too i took it for 1 month and then found out i was pregnant after 9 years of trying x

I too have PCOS but I haven't completely taken the Metformin that was prescribed to me. Only because the first two I took really made me nauseous and got really bad headaches. I've researched a lot about it online and found that it has worked for quite a few women in 'curing' their PCOS and possibly losing weight.

Have you got the slow release Metformin? It helps with nausea. I started on 500mgba day then asked doc to notch it up to 1000mg so took one tablet with breakfast and one with dinner.
