Is it actually possible to detect ovulation JUST from charting CM and CP?

If so I am on CD18 of 30. And still haven't ovulated. I have had increased CM and my CP has moved up to 'high' but that's it (not opened or anything). So I'd say I'll ovulate soon. But I've been reading that to 'support pregnancy' (by this I assume they mean implantation) you need a LP of at least 10 days. So even if I ovulate tomorrow or the next day it's cutting it damn fine.

Do you think this could be the cause of my m/cs? I am assuming from what I've read that a short LP = problems implanting. Could be possible for the first but the second I managed to make it to 4w6d before miscarrying. Surely it would have implanted by then? Or at least started to...

I am now a bit worried that I have a short LP and I will never stay pregnant! Any ideas or advice please? Sorry I know I'm badgering you all with questions at the moment but the fact that I'm on CD18 and showing no definite ovulations signs has me worried!!! :? :? :?

last month i wasnt charting but i took my temps and sure enough they were never above 36.3 for awhile, then on the 13th it was 36.4 and i didnt take it for 2 days, after that it stayed right up at 36.7 never below until i got my period. so i am pretty sure i ovulated on the 13th. and i got my period on the 23rd. so if my luteal phase is ten days then obviously its possible to support a pregnancy because iv got my daughter to prove it! hope that reassures u a bit

I have a short LP. I'm one of those weird people who's LP vary from 6 days to 16. Its lame, and it does make things harder.
I do think its harder for FF to detect ovulation just from LP and CP. Once you start your temps too it will make it easier for you to see your LP. And if you're concerned just mention it to your GP.

Hi sweetie. A short LP can cause problems implanting because the embryo can take up to 10 days to implant fully, but if you know that you've miscarried, it means that the baby did implant, because in order to get a positive pregnancy test you have to have an implantation. Mainly, a short LP means that you have general progesterone problems, and that itself can cause your body to be unable to sustain the level that it needs to to keep a pregnancy going. Agnus castus is supposed to help with this.

thanks melissa. good to know

sadly 'talking to GP' doesnt seem to be an option here. the gp knows diddly squat (but at least is nice) and the 'specialist' doesnt give a toss. I have supposedly been referred for tests to see why I miscarried but nobody has confirmed any appointments yet so i think they've forgotten about me! gits

if I don't catch this month I will be temping next month so we will see for sure when I ov'd!

I hope they get back to you soon hun xx

eep after reading your post i looked up a little on luteal phase- and found that LAM method of birth control (breastfeeding) that i used can interfere with luteal phase- which might explain why my first post-breastfeeding pregnancy failed :(

now i am paranoid too
