My health in pregnancy grant (£190) has just been put into my bank account and I sent the forms away on Tuesday! That has taken them 4 days, I was expecting it to take like 6 weeks! How efficient for a change!
They put it through so quick dont they!!! About 4 days after it going into my account I got the letter through saying it will be in there within 7 days...there really was no point in that letter. x Enjoy spending!
Well I work saturdays, I have just nipped home to let the dog out so no spending for me today! We have all the big things we need to be honest so we might go to the baby event they have on at asda at the mo and stock up on lots of nappies etc! Must put it over to my savings straight away though otherwise before I know it, it will be gone....!
I've just text my OH to check our joint account (he works in a bank), I sent mine away a week past thursday so fingers crossed The Asda event is just as dangerous! Have fun!
i havent got mine yet but we went to Ikea today with the credit card... i was hoping to only spend the 190 that i can replace instantly but we actually ended up spending about 320! We got a bathroom cabinet (at the moment all our toiletries are in bags on the floor) and two laundry baskets, a lovely big chest of drawers for Jaspers things (his first piece of furniture ) and some bedcovers because neither of us find it comfortable under a duvet and have been using individual blankets up til now - not very romantic!
we also found a cot and mattress from Ebay for 34.99 which is clearly a bargain so i am going to go and pick that up next week, i am on the look out for a cheap change-station now and a basket for clean nappies... and we have everything we need
Wow that is well quick. I'm picking my form up next week as this week has been so hectic so not been able to pop out and get one plus I already had a mw app booked for this coming Thursday so thought it was best to wait till then so can do all together.
Wow Bigbump, what a bargain
I spent quite alot on my furniture only cause I didnt really know where to look and had to find somewhere that would deliver.
I'm hoping to spend my money on more baby accessories or just put in a saving account for her. x
Wow that was fast! Sometimes they're great, sometimes they're rubbish x you'll have to post what you spend on! x is it the grant you can claim from 25 weeks? I'm useless at knowing things like that! x

Lets hope mine gets paid in that quick as i put in my form today . that is quick considering it would take a week atleast tho lol.
Im guna keep looking in bank now lolx
wow i just read this whilst searching for how long it takes as im hopefully getting my form tomorrow from midwife, will she sign the letter there or does it not need signing? x
Becks there is a section that your midwife fills in, and signs, then another section you fill in and sign, not very much, just basic details. My midwife had already completed her part and gave me it at my appointment but she might fill it out while you are there. Mine went in very quick too, and the letter comes in a few days later telling you you will be getting it
Thanks, i thought i might get the form tomorrow and send it off thursday as ill be 25wks on thursday but just read on the direct.gov site that it has to be done from 25weeks so do u think if my midwife signs it and dates it a day early that it wont go through? i dont even no when ill get my next appointment after this one either as the midwife never wants to see me as iv had a baby before x
I'm not sure. Technically they shouldn't give you it til your next appointment if you are not 25weeks + when they see you because you could still end the pregnancy then but it does depend how strict your mw is. I'm sure a day isn't going to make any difference!! Your MW might just post-date it.
