Hi everyone,

I'm back! I've been away for.........quite some time after going through my third ectopic pregnancy. this time it hit me really hard. I was so positive that it was in the right place but i was wrong.
I cant describe how I feel.
I've been referred to the fertility clinic and need to have lots of tests done possibly even an operation or two.
everyone is telling me (my family and O/H) that there is nothing wrong with my tubes and he reason for the previous losses is that my docs and the hospital have never picked up that I am Rhesus negative blood group which is causing the ectopic's (even my Nan, who is practically a retired GP says my blood is the cause!!!) but I cant see how....

Anyway, i'm back here as I need support from people who are in the same boat as me, and also to give my support back.

The latest with me is that I got a VERY faint BRP on Tuesday which scared the crap out of me. I cant take any contraception at the moment as my docs think I need to let my natural hormone levels sort. (also im allergic to latex!!)

I did another test today and it was BFN. im not due my period until Saturday/Sunday (cycles been all over the place)

my boobs have big blue visible veins on (not normally there) and my nipples are sore, larger and darker.
Also an increase in cm. I dont know what to think.

Hiya Zozie :)

I can't imagine how awful it must have been to have had three ectopic pregnancies :(

My friend had one and had to have a tube/ovary removed and she was really upset...

I'm not aware of blood type causing ectopic pregnancies, they tend to be more a result of scarring or abnormally shaped reproductive organs.

My friend has a bicornuate uterus.

I know it's easier said than done, but be brave. You've been through it before and you can go through it again, so fingers crossed for your BFP :)

Hey you - was hoping you would come back after your ectopic.....wondered how you were getting on....

At least now you are getting the help to find out whats going on - and I have my fingers crossed for you (and for everyone in ttc actually!)

xxxxx :dust:

Thats what I have been thinking. I cant see it being my blood. I think they are just trying to make me feel better. The only thing I can hold on to is that when I have been scanned they cant see any damage or scarring in either of my tubes. I wasnt aware that they could see that from an internal scan??

thanks for your support. much love xxx

Hi ya Lea,
so glad to see you so far along!! hope you are well my friend!!
not too long now.

yea im slowly making progress. lots to be done but im blessed with still having both tubes and still sane! lol

lots of love you to you and bump. xxxx

Hi Zozie and Lea, :)

I was just thinking of you two the other day and wondering how you both were as we got BFPs around the same time last August.

Lea, hope you have enjoyed your pregnancy and are looking forward to being a Mummy!

Zozie, Sorry you aren't preggers yet Hun, me neither, gosh how time's flying! :hugs:

I've been referred to a specialist too, in one of my appointments they were talking about chromosomes, and possibly testing mine and Hubby's compatibility I just wondered if that would be relevant to you?

Also I'm guessing you will have already had a laparoscopy? Or a HSG, to check your tubes?

If you have and they were ok that would definitely make your blood a more likely cause too.

Anyway let's hope none of this matters and you have a sticky (in the right place) BFP around the corner!!

It would be spooky if we both got BFPs together again after all this time, I'm feeling positive this month, I had a good 6 weeks off TTC so maybe that's why I'm abnormally optimistic! 1 week to go til I can test, let me know how you get on....

Hi Zozie

I don't think we've actually talked on here before - I've been here on and off over a year but I tend to take breaks from the forum when things get too much!

Sorry to hear about your losses - must be really getting you down. I hope you can get some answers soon. I always think the waiting is the worst bit - sure you are the same. I don't know much about blood types etc. but I know they always want to test blood for everything so it must be v important. I'm sure they'll have you in good hands. Good luck with it all xxxxxxxxx

What do you mean by internal scan?

They can't tell just by looking inside your vagina, but if you had a ultrasound (where they insert an ultrasound device into your vagina) or a lap & dye (a minor operation) then they should be able to have seen anything wrong with your fallopian tubes and the shape of your organs too really...

However, if you have endometriosis which can also increase the chance of ectopic pregnancies - they would only be able to really see that with a lap & dye.

They did a internal ultra sound scan (vaginal) and said there was nothing abnormal and that my tubes looked healthy and small as they should be. so can they see scarring and damage that way?

I have specialist appointments coming and I really cant wait.

Aww, I want you guys to get your bfp's together again....

I like to keep an eye on whats going on over here, especially with the girlies that were here when I joined......
glad to see you back in the game though zozie!

Good luck to everyone

I would say that a laparoscopy is the best diagnostic test you can have to have a look at tubes, ovaries etc. I have had two laps in the past first one identified an abnormal Fallopian tube and ovary on my right side. They think this was a birth defect, never hindered my chances of pregnancy though. My right side doesn't work full stop. After my last c section they couldn't find my tube and ovary on that side at all, I think its gradually getting worse. Then my second identified Endometriosis and they gave my laser treatment that time. Even with all this I have luckily not had any problems with conception - very lucky in that sense. A laparoscopy is apparently the only test that will formally diagnose Endometriosis, so if they suspect that they will want to confirm this way.

Luckily it seems, pregnancy has halted my Endo for now, doesn't seem to be a problem.

Fingers crossed honey that you get some answers soon, just wanted to reassure you that even if they find something it's doesn't always cause too many problems once you have the correct treatment xxx

They will be able to check your tubes for scarring etc with a vaginal ultrasound as far as i know, but not for Endometriosis :)

Hmmmmm...well thats a few times I've heard that now.
They definitely said they were fine and perfectly normal. she even said they were so small she found it hard to find them, and then said if they were damaged they would be larger.
is all so confusing!
thank goodness for this forum else I would have lost my mind by now.
