OMG

im a little bit like that too, dont really want any baby stuff in the house before blob here, but its impossible to do!! i have baby grows, vests and monitors lol!
i can see your OH's side but i can also see how your parents must be feeling, its something for them to look forward too and quite rightly so!
Enjoy it hun and it a bloody gorgeous set!! jealous.com!! lol x

What a lovely surprise and a gorgeous bedding set too x

its beautiful hun. After everything that your family has been through of course they are going to want to spoil Pea xx

Such a lovely thing to do and such a lovely set! x

Thanks girls :good:
I phoned mum to thank her for it, she was all pleased, plus the 30% off was an added bonus :good: x

oh so lovely!! ignore OH hunny and enjoy! like you say, ur thinking of your parents enjoyment too!! xxxx

It's beautiful!! Ignore OH...how does he expect you to have nothing in the house ready before pea arrives?! Does he realise how much shopping he'd have to do after you give birth?

Ahh how thoughtful was that  Ignore your OH, he is being a KS and a very selfish one at that..

I know people have their superstitions, but having something in your house is not going to make you lose a baby, if we didn't prepare we would be so stressed by the time it came to the end of the pregnancy.. C's granny was like this and took a huff when I bought bottles, I told him that it was the 21st century, and if somethings going to happen it's going to happen regardless of stuff being in the house or not

Sorry that was meant to make you feel better, I hope you get what way I mean it :oooo: xxxx

Such a lovely thing of them to do! Xx

What a lovely gesture! and a gorgeous set!!

OH is being silly.. how can he expect you to not allow your family to be excited etc?? Why do you have to do things his way? pffft lol men!

Try to explain to him how you want to be prepared not have to panic if the baby arrives early! Plus there are so many things you cant do while ur pregnant that he still can!! Hes gotta allow you to do something to pass the time!! And its being productive at the same time as your getting things ready for the baby!

This is the first grandchild on both sides, o/h's family have this crazy superstition that it's bad luck to bring anything into the house for the baby until it's born
I just thought o/h would cut my parents some slack. We've had an awful 6 months and it's nice to see my parents sounding happy about something again :-( x

My nan used to just say it was the pram you shouldn't have in the house so I left it at my mums to keep her happy when I had my daughter, won't be doing that this time though since I live nearly 500 miles away! Funny how older people still have lots of funny superstitions and worries we don't, but suppose with the Internet we now worry about things they didnt know about!

Yeah ive heard the pram one alot.. never have i heard that you cant bring 'anything' into the house.. making alot of work for yourself if u do that tbh!

I just find their attitude a bit prehistoric to be honest. They are also already starting to mention that the baby shouldn't be given a dummy in public as it's not a nice image!! Don't worry I put them straight that baby would get what it needs whether they like it or not!!

 really?? My mum always moans about dummies in pics.. which i understand..but if baby wants a dummy its bloody getting a dummy!!! is it better to have a thumb sucker? or a blankie sucker??
