Only 35 days until Wiggle is due, and I have NO kitchen!

What should have been a 2 or 3 days job has turned into a small nightmare. My hubby took a week off work to remove the old kitchen and put in the new one, plenty of time.

BUT when he took the old units down the plaster work was trashed and damp, the skip was 3 days late because of an issue with the licence, the new units didn't turn up until the day before we was due to go back to work (and there still is no tap for the sink), and basically he's having to do a couple of hours a night when he comes home from work and the poor bloke's worn out already.

All the stuff that was in our kitchen is now pilled up in the living room so we have no where to sit and relax either.

This is HELL!

me too.... thats must be so horrible to live with so soon to baby coming

   i totally empathise honey. until last week we were in temporary accommodation when our builder discovered that the floor of our flat was rotten. about 60% of it had to be replaced, which meant insurance putting us up elsewhere cos we didn't have a bathroom or water supply... but we got a fab builder in and he sorted it all in 3 weeks and we moved home a week ago - its taken me til now to clean everything, but its sooooo worthwhile having a new bathroom and new carpets - it feels like a new house.
hope it feels the same for you once the stress is over and you've got a lovely new kitchen

I know how you feel
i dont have a kitchen either :(
so i can empathise compleatly
hope it gets sorted soon love
if you can afford to get someone in the do it as your so close to your due date.
do you have family friend in the bulding plastering ectect trades to help out.

big hugs from me

One mate of ours (fellow dad to be) offered to help out last week during half term (he's a teacher). He's put togther 2 kitchens in the last 2 years already. but because everything came so late we've missed out on his help. He can help on weekends, but that's when my hubbyhas his longest and hardest hours at work (he's a garden centre nursaryman).

wish we could afford to get someone in, but even the kitchen units them selves were bought with wedding gift vouchers. bit skint at the mo

It's driving me crackers.... just picked hubby up from work, and hes started working on the kitchen as soon as he walked in the door. Didn't even stop for a cuppa or a pee or anything.

Must remember to give him lots of love for this, poor fella!

Oh dear

No kitchen is REALLY crap especially this close to your due date! I really hope it all gets sorted asap and you can get the house sorted in time for LO.

Sounds like your OH is being lovely!

Looking at the kitchen, living room and nursery - I'd be chillin' with teh mobile while sat in a rocker!!

It must be a nightmare...

I've just had 3 weeks of work done on my house, (central heating, new kitchen and bathroom fitted) and I know from experience how stressful it is, I totally feel for you.

The great thing is though that it looks absolutely fantastic now and ready for baby to move in. I'm feeling really good about my nesting instincts because everything looks lovely and when I get my urges to make delicious food I can do it in a lovely kitchen. It'll totally be worth it I promise!
