Some of you know that since & weeks I have beenhaving leg pain in my mid right thigh, which is so very similar to where I used to experiance AF pain. Its getting me down now!

So any ideas as to what it may be etc would be mucho appreciated.

The pain is like a constant dull ache, it does come and go and is nore annoying than painful. It feels as though it gets worse in the evening and the only thing that rids me of the nagging pain (paracetamol; doesnt work) is to elevate my leg/lie down.

Hubby massages my leg, it makes it better for half an hour but then the pain returns. I th8is morning pressed my side of bum (about and 2 inchs from my hip bone to the right and it seems to momenarily take the pain away!

Ideas as to what this may be and how I can relieve it?xxxxxxxxxxxx

is it some kind of sciatica? having never had it i don't know what it feels like but it sounds like nerve pain, cos paracetamol wouldn't touch nerve pain but manipulation, resting and change of position might. have you spoken odocs? constant pain will get anyone down!

my joints and legs in general have been hurting, like you say it's a dull ache but it's normal because of ligaments softening up. Have you got a maternity body pillow to sleep with? they really help me x

Dysco, that's good to know that paracetamol won't touch nerve pain, it leads me to believe that's what is may be! The docs juist say that its just one of those things but as I said its fine for a few days but five weeks is makin me grumpy and irritable! Who could I see for nreve pain, as in what type of person? Physio or chiropractor or? Oh I don't know but how glad am I that ur my bb!!! Soph, I'm goiong to buy opne this weekend! Normal pillow just is not big enough anymore xx

I got this one from Ebay, it's brilliant and about 1/4 of the price http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Maternity...=005&category=25815&cmd=ViewItem#ht_826wt_952 xx

Go see an Osteopath. Sounds like swelling squishing/pinching your nerves.

I've got right leg sciatica due to athritus in my spine and sometimes I just want to take my leg off and put it on a shelf for the night.

To sleep - if you sleep on your side, then putting a small pillow between your knees helps. I use a lot of duevt scrunched up between my knees and feet to keep it elevated on soft stuff without been uncomfortable for rest of me.

When you've found out the area the pain is originating from (ostopaths good for that) then wheat bags (warmed up) can help reduce the swelling and pain too. (or cold packs depending on what's coursing the pain)

Hope you get relif soon it's a bitch when can't take any nerve numbers.

Psyco darling this is so helpful, thank you!!!!!!!!! I want to take my leg off too!!! I will hunt down a specialist and try to conquer this!!! Iyts makin me feel so blue x

I had exactly the same too, luckily I work in a therapy dept and the womens health physio's saw me quite quickly. She gave me some exercises and an elastic belt to wear, the belt worked wonders, I wore it for about two weeks and the pain then sub sided! Total relief, could sleep, walk and do my shoes up with no pain! No pain now for about a month, touch wood and fingers crossed thats it.

My advice would be to ask your midwife for a referral to the physio team, it will help no end xx

Thank you sweetie!!!!! Im just so glad other people have experienced it - i was beginning to think i was a crazy! xx

I used to get this all the time when I was young, and the doctors used to tell me it was growing pains - the thing is at 5'1 I was done growing pretty early!! I knew it wasn't that :p
I think nerve pain sounds spot on, it's the most horrible feeling cos there's really nothing you can do to relieve it if you don't know where it's coming from! Some of it might be direct pain, some of it might be referred pain. I agree with Psyco, osteopaths are wonderful. Hopefully you get something sorted xx

Previously when I have been to the docs about it theyare simply clueless as to what the pain is - it only comes when AF due. Its so frustrating and now obv I relate that pain to AF so mentally i feel like i am having a battering too! xx
