Oh no....sounds like LUSH is the next one going now =o(

Lush is my back up if i ever get stuck for a gift!

one of the mw's said to me the other day they used to do great lotions for itchy skin - any one know if they do and what its called?

Hi all, I worked for Lush for 5 years and while i left there 3 years ago now and things have changed greatly I cant see them going completely.
They have been going for many many years,Mark first started producing products for the body shop then they started Cosmetics to go which folded after a new year sale went crazy and then they set up Lush. I think they've been going about 25 years now. The owners have the rights to all the products under a different company so they don't have all there eggs in one basket so to speak. They really are hippys and there buisness ethic can leave you wondering how they've come this far but they know they have a good product and they're not scared to call time on a venture so even if the shops go they'll remain in some form. :)
Still I can't see many people out there will spare £3 for a chunk of soap at the mo so something will have too give.

Sam&Alice the cream your after is Dream cream, it really is amazing and sold by the bucket load!

Hope this helps a little

Nikki

Its ok everyone I have come up with a cunning plan. You can buy me all some Lush stuff (it'll be a PITA to cram it in my bathroom but sacrifices have to be made I suppose) and if every member of the forum does this, they will have lots of money. I will think of you all everytime I have a bath if that's any consolation ;)

I second the dream cream recommendation, it is just gorgeous and smells yum. Also angels on bare skin is the best cleanser ever.

I have LOADS of dream cream at the mo, it's the only thing to sort out my itchy skin.

It would be a shame to see Lush go, but equally I'd be sad to see it 'sell out' it's principles. I was working for Body Shop when Anita sold first to shareholders and then to L'Oreal. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I think of what that company has become :(

I used to love Lush, but now it makes me feel a bit sick. My nephew loves the jelly shower gel. The girls in the shop always let him play with it in water. They're very accommodating.

I *might* have some of these I can send you. I bought loads then went off it. Will check tonight.

We are such rose and violet scented chicks, aren't we? Like a pair of Victorian dames!

I thought a buyer had been found for whittards?

I really can't see it happening, TBH. I've only recently finished my stint as a christmas temp, and while I was there they'd launched a new campaign called 'A Random Act Of Kindness' which lets Lush staff give away a free product to a customer who they think really deserves it. The limit was £6 and staff could give one free thing away each day, which we all did. But maybe that's a clever marketing thing, to encourage more customers...? I'm no business expert, but it's not something I'd do if my company was in trouble.

Lush is too popular because of their natural and fairtrade products, the support they give to charities and the really friendly and helpful staff IMO..

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part??
