little strange to be chatting about this on here but it is kind of pregnancy related lol

one of my dogs finished her first season three weeks ago so spoke to the vet about getting her spayed now that she has had her first season, but on sunday she and my smaller older dog had a bit of a scrap which ended with me rushing the jack russel to the emergency vets and spending £222.32 on vet bills having her cleaned up and antibiotics etc, we thought we might have to have the other one destroyed and then today when i got back from work i re-introduced the two of them and have kept a very close watch on the pair of them and of course the kids when they have been around them.

So while i was rubbing the bigger dogs tummy I noticed that her teats seem to have swelled!!!!!!
I went to a friends house who breeds dogs and asked her to come round and give me her opinion, she reckons that my dog is PREGNANT!!!! judging from the fact that her season finished thee weeks ago, the swollen teats, the aggression to my other bitch, and the fact that she is still slightly swollen behind.

This was not in my plan at all, so now I need to watch my dog for morning sickness
If she is pregnant then she will be due about the end of July beginning of August when i will be around 20/22 weeks myself which means by the time the pups have been weaned etc I will be nearly 28/30 weeks just what I need how am i supposed to cope with three kids, a lizard, two rats, a jack russel, and a staffy cross with pups when i'm that far gone!!!!

she may just be having a phantom pregnancy my female dog used to have them.

yeah my jack russel had those after every season.

only thing about this one is that my neighbour was walking her for me because i didn't feel well enough and he took her out for a good couple of hours at a time with his bitch and i think that he may of let them off lead so i don't actually know that she didn't get caught out any of those times, as i noticed that even when his 'precious' husky came into season about a week ago she was still walked off lead and left on the front garden while she was in heat as he trusts her not to wander off, but she was unsupervised and at least once i know that an english bull terrier had to be forcibly dragged off the garden by its owner coz there is no gate onto his garden!!

on know hope fully shes not but am sure u will be just fine if she is. make the neighbour come in and help u if she is xx

oh i will do, thankfully the woman down the road that i mentioned earlier has offered to help out as much as she can as well, and if it turns out that Demo is pregnant then she has offered the services of her whelping box etc as her sharpei is due to have her pups in a few weeks so she will have finished with it by the time i need it xx

I wouldn't worry for now, i have a staffy and her first season was a nightmare. She stayed swolen for ages! Apparently normal according to my vets!

Just keep an eye on her over the next week or two hun and if you still think she is, take her for a check up xx
