October 2017 mummies :-)

Hey ladies!!! I'm on a proper salad hype at the moment!!! Eating tons of it!

Ladies that have hit 24 weeks, I have been told we are now 6 months pregnant? I keep trying to figure it out but finding the whole weeks/months thing confusing! But anywho.....6 months :D yay!

I weighed 10st when I got bfp....I'm now over 11st but I'm not too bothered as I know once baby is born we can lose it. My OH has been putting weight on since bfp too haha

I went for a walk to the local post office to collect something...it's about 30min walk each way...I have caught the sun! Pregnancy has made my skin auuuuper sensitive to the sun!

Hope the ladies that have been quiet are ok :) xxx

Yeah confused me, but I found this and we are in our 6th month (so not actually 6 months) but found this site..

Olivia, I was the same, walked to go swimming yesterday and back again, my face is bright red, along with my neck and chest - basically everything not covered by my t shirt!
It doesn't help when I look red to start with in this weather - everyone in the office keeps asking me if I'm too hot!!
God knows what I will wear tomorrow - I want my uniform back, lol!
X

Oh dear! I stayed in today to stay out of the sun!!! I have to go and buy some more suncream tomorrow.

I wrote my OH's fathers day card :) I got him a cute little keyring with our scan picture on and a message on the back. Anyone have any plans for Sunday??

I'm so hot! All the time :( feel very uncomfortable at the moment and having a lot of BH isn't helping.

I'm still here! Does appear to just be a few of us though. Oh well.
I work in a building with no widows so haven't had to worry about the sun. Hoping to finish early today and get a few hours chilling in the garden.

No plans for Sunday. Must try and arrange to see my dad. Got him a bottle of gin for Father's Day and got ID buying it! Yep, ID the 30+ pregnant woman! Haha.

I am living in my few pairs of skinny jeans. Its a bit boring, but they fit so that's a bonus.
Baby has been pretty lazy for the last 12 hours so I'm hoping for some good, reassuring kicks today. Damn these babies, already causing worry!xx

i'm still here too, but it is quiet, hope all are ok x

I bought a pair of skinny jeans in black and have been living in them so purchased a second pair to make sure I have enough ha! Today is going to be a hot one but thankfully am working from home so can slob in my shorts and vest, which i wouldn't wear in public in England (but oddly abroad is fine???)

Got my midwife appointment on Tuesday, hopefully the heartbeat is good and strong! My little man is active at set times, but mainly when I am lying down on my back, whether that is just because I can feel him stronger!

Had my maternity chat as well so am on count down!!! Woo hoo!

Maybe it's just quiet on here coz there is not really much to update from people...second tri there doesn't seem to be much going on, lol! Symptom wise, I'm getting bigger (can feel my skin stretching sometimes so operation moisturiser every day is underway!), and I'm getting hot...I'm not a dress kinda person, but if this weather continues, think I may have to get a couple.
Like you flick, if at home, I just stretch on a pair of shorts and a vest - I look horrific! I also bought a pair of yoga/comfy pants from mothercare, found them soooo comfy, I went back and got another pair - one for slobbing around the house, and another for actually going out in public!

Went to the mothercare event last night - so much for getting the pram from uberchild! We were looking at their 3 wheeled travel system, the limited edition xpedior tusk, it was £100 off, plus another 10% off just for being at the event. Ended up being same price as uberchild, but I could try it out, fold it down, etc, so decided to order it! Also picked up a bath (with a built in support so it goes from newborn to toddler, apparently our bath is too big and will cost too much to fill every evening, hence this!) and a newborn gro-bag. Getting there now - eek!!!
Xx

What bath was it, I have been looking as ours is the same, it is a big bath and I was just going to buy a bath support but it will cost a fortune to run each night? x

Hey, I hope everyone is well! I'm feeling really good the last few days, I've slept better as I've not been up every couple hours to wee - I think baby must have shifted up a bit and off my bladder for now :) Has anybody got the nesting urge? My OH thinks I've gone mad, I keep bringing home bottles of new cleaning products and spent the best part of my evening looking at mop upgrades!

This is the one we got. I initially just wanted a bath support, but then apparently our bath is bigger than normal, and like yours, will cost a fortune to fill up!
We looked at a normal tub and then an extra bath support but would work out only a tiny bit cheaper than this one. It was £30, and they do a ocean themed one, if you are team yellow, or just don't want blue/pink! It's more than I wanted to pay really but it will last all the way to toddler...

Hey everyone, just got back from my short holiday. I wasn't expecting to be so hot here tought.

Happy V-day to ladies who had their 24th weeks past , I will be 24 weeks on Sunday yay x

I also visited the hospital while on holiday, my legs got really swollen again and baby wasn't moving as much. I had a scan and all looked well, baby was happy and the doc said he is a happy healthy boy. However, my blood pressure went up a bit because of stress ( and extremely hot weather) so he said to keep an eye on it . I lived only in midi and maxi dresses but going back to work I might take my black skinny jeans again.

About weight gain, I put a lot. I am always hungry and craving sweets, afraid to think how much I will weight in the end. 12 kg up so far...

I feel so tired but glad I have the weekend to rest after all these long journeys.

Glad everyone is doing good x

Whenever I get home the skinny jeans are off and I'm in comfortable, stretchy sweatpants. I love it.
We got an inflatable duck bath thing from kiddicare to save filling the bath at the beginning, and we can then take it away with us. I also have a bath chair thing that my sis used with my nephews.

I'm confused about baby clothes. What size clothes are people getting for baby to use initially? Do you get ideas of its size nearer the time or is it a case of getting a few newborn, and up to a month, etc and seeing what size it is? All my cousins had 9lb plus babies, but I'm a fair bit smaller then them so really hoping for a smaller baby. Obvs as long as she's healthy I'm happy, but hoping she wont be massive!! xx

Amy my son was 8lbs6 and I only really bought 0-3 clothes but they swamped him! I was glad people bought us a couple first size outfits for the first week. This time I've only got 4 first size sleepsuits, probably around 6 newborn and the rest 0-3. I'd buy less in smaller sizes because you can always get more when they arrive if they're in smaller sizes for longer. I've also kept receipts for everything in first size and newborn just incase he really is a chunk and won't fit them at all :)

Haha!! My OH bought some brandy today while we were out shopping and he got questioned about his age....he's 40 in December hahaha made me laugh!

Ohh skinny jeans!! I haven't worn mine since March as I couldn't fit into them. It's been leggings since then. Although I did see some cropped jeggings today in Asda which I was tempted to buy but when I wore them below bump they appeared to be full length!! So I am still on the hunt for comfortable alternatives to skinny jeans!

I have started logging kicks on a kick counting app. Not so much about quantity at the moment, just frequency....I am then going to look at 10 or so days to find out what baby's kicking pattern is. That's if there is one :eh:

Lea - I also notice my skin stretching so I use burts bees oil (as I love the citrus smell!) day and night.

Digital - I have noticed I want everything to be clean and tidy!! I spend most of the day tidying and washing everything....this is very unusual for me. My cleaner came in yesterday and didn't know what to do as everything was done haha

We are going with the Angelcare bath support (£15 from amazon) there's a maximum water level line on the bath support and it isn't that high....maybe 6-10 inches of water. Not looking forward to bending over the bath though!

We have bought mainly 0-3 months to ensure they get used! Waiting till nearer the time to get first size or newborn as I think we are told what the doctors predict the weight will be? I did pick up a cute little jumper last week for 50p! It is grey with a robin that says My first christmas :D

I ordered a few bits from the asda baby event which included a sleeping bag type thing for newborns....but it looked massive and I was rather frightened baby could somehow fall into it (if that makes sense!?) So I sent it back and have been looking at the Gro Snugs instead as they look more size appropriate and I love the option to swaddle or keep arms out.

Wow my post has turned into an essay  sorry for going on!! Also travelling to Turkey tomorrow so if I don't post for a week or so it's because I have rubbish wifi connection!

Olivia, I have just bought the gro bag newborn/swaddle bag, it looks really good, fairly small, but with little poppers depending on if they want their arms in or out. She said you will know if baby prefers arms being outside coz they will try and stretch their arms out! It was £26 for the one (!), but I am reassured by the gro bag make. Maybe when older, I will lower my standards, but for newborns they are perfect, and you don't have to worry about blankets or anything x

Mmmm, I will probably get one of those too. I've found some on amazon for about £16+. I have some sleeping bags that my mum bought but they look really big. I've got some swaddle blankets and cloths too.

Its so warm already today. Planning on sitting out in the garden in a bit but sure I'll retreat back inside before it gets really hot.

When OH goes away (he's off from tonight) I'll go through the clothes properly and see what I have. Have loads of 0-3 and 3-6 so might keep an eye out for a few first and newborn bits, then I can always get more at the time if I need them.

I cant really use a kick app as I can't take phone or etc into work. I'll just have to try and remember a pattern in my head. Has anyone felt baby having hiccups yet? Why do they feel like? So jealous for Olivia going away for a bit. Also, when does tri 3 officially start?xx

How are we all coping in the heat? I'm not too bad now, but not looking forward to trying to sleep.
Been on a few walks these last few days which was nice but my feet are aching now so I'm sitting with them up. Fortunately no swollen feet or ankles though- how are yours in the heat Allysa? Was really nice to get some sun to me and the bump. Starting to notice I'm getting one of those lines from my belly button down. Its not massively obvious, but its coming. Cant spot any stretch marks yet but coving myself in moisturiser to keep soft and any itching at bay.

A funny thing happened yesterday. After hubby and I went for a walk I fell asleep on the sofa for 30mins. When I woke up he said that the baby had been very active while I was sleep. I asked if he'd felt it but he said no, he was sat on the other sofa and could see it moving around loads. Was good to know she had been really active and that it hadn't woken me up.

I've got a pregnancy book that says tri 3 starts from 26 weeks but there's loads of stuff that says its from 27 weeks. Don't feel in such a rush to get to tri 3 as I was for tri 2. Probably cos I know things will get physically harder and then we'll have to give birth (*vom). I am noticing now I'm getting more out of puff with stairs, etc and my back is starting to ache more frequently.
24 weeks tomorrow, yay. Congratulations on getting there today Allysa x

Morning all,

Well I managed to burn my legs, doh! I was putting cream on and the kids came running through wanting to go into the paddling pool so I caked them in cream and then forgot I needed to do my legs, feeling the pain now after two nights of no sleep (due to heat and the burns) and wearing my skinny jeans for work.......... My own fault I know! You would think after 36 years I would have mastered applying cream, funny thing is when I go abroad I never burn, yet here I manage it every year!

I have been looking at the gro-bags, I bought just a normal sleeping bag for him but am the same it looks huge so may purchase a gro-bag also and then I have the option? I have bought a pack of first size and 0-3 size baby suits to keep me going and then a few outfits for if we go anywhere, my white wash load is going to increase, we normally do a white wash a week as it is mainly colour and darks in our house lol

Baby bath wise, I found a one in Babies r Us that has a built in support (http://www.toysrus.co.uk/babiesrus/my-favourite-things-bath-gift-set/0110882) with my son I used just the white bath support which was great as we had a normal sized bath, but this time we have a huge corner bath (which I hate as you just can't get comfy but it came with the house!!) so may purchase something like this!

I have started the count the kicks too, he is in a pattern of sorts, I normally feel him from now until about 10.30, then about 3pm until 5pm and then between 9 and 10 for a couple of hours, that is when he is strongest as I think it is because I am lying down so it is more visable as I lie on my back watching TV in bed x

Another hot one today... and I have ran out of ice lollies at home :(

Thanks Amy, congratulations for reaching 24 weeks as well today! :D x

It is horrendous with the heat, luckily at work we have air con and is nice and chilled, however when I go out to the toilet I am melting. Couldn't sleep well for the last 2 days, I was so hot and sweaty . Everyone is telling me oh not a good time to be pregnant which doesn't help either ha. Thank God my legs are ok-ish and did not swell lately more than normal.
How nice with the baby moving Amy, my husband is dying to see the baby moving but out lo doesn't want to move when daddy is around.

I don't have a movement app either but I am tracking it mentally :) However, he can move one day all day and the next one not as much and I feel more movements than kicks so I suppose he still have enough room in there . He have his quiet times when I get a bit scared.

Guess what, I am almost sure I have felt hiccups this morning for the first time!! It was such a sweet feeling.
