.. October 2016 Mummies - Third Trimester - Final Round ..

31 weeks today, single digit countdown yay :), so hard to wait when all my other friends are having their babies X

What are your thoughts about buying size 1 or size 2 nappies??,x

So far i have 3 packs of size 1 and one pack of size 2. I want to bulk buy water wipes too as its recommended to use water wipes for the first few month. Asda do a box of 60 packets of water wipes for £19

I need to start buying nappies! But couldn't remember what size I got before. Think il get 1 and 2 and see which one fits better. I'm also going to buy water wipes as i can't stand using cotton wool to get rid of poo, so much easier with a wipe x

Yes i agree easier to use waterwipes. Cotton wool will just get messy. Does everyone have their hospital bag ready

Hey all! What have you packed in your hospital bag? I think I will do one next week?

Was thinking......
Baby grows and vests - Newborn and 0-3
Baby socks
Baby hat and going home all in one fleece
Couple of nappies

Nightie for me x 2
phone charger
Snack bars and book
Mini shower gel, shampoo and conditioner
Towel
light dressing gown
slippers

What else are you bringing? I remember it being really hot last time so bringing summer jim jams and light dressing gown.

Went to visit the Midwife led unit yesterday I really hope the birth pool is available when I go in I think it could make a real difference to pain relief as I love water. Ive been speaking to midwives this week and the position you give birth is really important i did not know this last time.

What are your plans? 9 weeks and a couple of days to go, exciting xx

I haven't packed mine yet, still need to get some things. But i do love packing gets me really excited X

I haven't even thought about mine yet! I've got the bag and I think I have all the things I will need, just not washed any baby clothes or packed anything yet haha xx

Hi. What about nipple cream, disposable underwear, maternity pads, blankets for baby, camera or camcorder.

Everytime i think my list is complete i add more lol

I haven't really thought about packing bag yet was gonna do it when im on mat leave. I think ive everything for it though. Had an appointment yesterday and cried in toilets after seeing the mw! The mw was just a bit cheeky and i was asking questions about movements and she was saying that i should have been talking through these worries to my own mw about that not hosp one and then telling me off basically because i hadnt booked my next appointment in with community mw. I dont see a mw except for hospital, I see a gp and she was then saying well, its the same thing. No no its really not. I felt so stupid just ran out of there after. Just have felt incredibly unsupported through pregnancy so far except for this forum! Okay rant over. Did get to see baby again though, head down and it was huuuge compared to first scans, wee handsand feet were so clear! Amazing!

Hope everyone is well :)

Does anyone else ever get movements like vigorous shaking? It's like she's having a little fit in my tummy! But I'm sure I seen someone ask something similar on the threads before. Xx

Awh Mac hope your ok. That's a bit insensitive and no need to say it really. Xx

I haven't packed or washed clothes yet just getting some ideas xx

I have!! It's so strange!! Mostly happens at nighttime for me, only lasts a second or too, I'm going to ask the midwife when I see her next. x

It's been a while since I commented on here. How is everyone getting along?

I'm 33 weeks pregnant now and going on my maternity in 3 weeks time. This pregnancy has seemed to fly by really quickly and as much as I'm looking forward to my newborn, part of me will miss being pregnant.

Hope everyone has kept well.

Hope everyone has something nice planned for the weekend! Im feeling the same AngelLily it's came in so fast! Also just seen your comment Mac, hope you are feeling abit better about it all! If people don't tell you these things, how are you meant to know?!

On the subject of hospital bags, I have decided I should probably start to get her washing done so I can bag up afew things for her! How many of each item are you taking for your little ones? So far I have;

3 vests (1 short sleeve 2 long)
2 sleepsuits
1 hooded cardigan and 1 normal cardigan
A light fleece/snowsuit
2 hats
2 pairs of socks
3 Muslins

And from there obviously nappies, water wipes, cream, a blanket/shawl and her car seat. Is this enough, assuming it's a straight forward labour? Xx

I am just so depressed right now :( everything is an uphill battle, mw told me yday that its highly likely that i have gestational diabetes due to my blood results and bmi. I have the glucose test next week to confirm it. Ive been in agony last few days with these gallstones. Work is just dreadful atm really challenging patients, management who couldn't care less and care staff just not coming in because of the stress leaving me on my own or with agency. I really really can't afford time off nevermind upcoming mat leave off but i really feel so stressed out and feel noone cares :'(:'( sorry just really needed to rant i just want to enjoy pregnancy and baby and I cant.

Hi Maac sorry you are feeling low. Dont worry too much about things just go with the flow. I have gestational diabetes and i have been put on metformin tablets. Just think about it as part of pregnancy and we will do anything to keep our babies safe. I also have a high bmi but going for long slow walks has helped me not put on too much weight. I hope you feel better. We are in the same boat. And you never know who may not need any medication like i am taking

I am 32 weeks today. Does anyone else get nausea? Its mild and happens after i have something to eat. I had a mw appointment on friday and urine was clear of any proteins so i know its not preaclampsia. Perhaps its just baby getting bigger and putting more pressure on my stomach

I haven't had nausea however iv been having backache and mild braxton hicks x

Hi all hope you are all doing well. It was my last day at work today. My maternity leave starts in September but I saved 2 weeks annual leave to start this week. It was so emotional to say bye to everyone i couldnt stop crying. Got surprise gifts and money from colleagues which was so touching. I dont know what il do with myself now lol anyone started their maternity leave?

Don't start my maternity leave til 5th September. Have to say I think I will struggle to get til then! Me and my other half work at the same place and he really doesn't get on with his department manager, so when he put in for 2 holiday weeks, 1 in May 1 in July, he had them refused for the reason "too many people already have it off", so he hasn't had a holiday since January!! He has took 2 holidays weeks before he starts his paternity so is off from 26th September, I'm sure he will need it by then! Hope your all well and coping ok with work. :) xxx

I'm not starting my leave until the week before i'm due to maximise time with baby, but i have a week or so annual leave...can't wait now!

I'm working until 38+5 and using holiday at the end of my mat leave so I can have more time with baby. I work in an office so it's not too hard going. Last day is 14th October :) x
