***October 2011 Mummies***

Its going so quick :(
Sorry to hear your LO has colic bunnykins, have you tried anything to relieve it? X x

We've tried infacol, coleif, gripe water, swinging him, whitenoise, swaddling, massage, warm baths. Some of it works but only for 5 mins then it starts back up again. Only surefire way to stop him screaming is when he's feeding or sleeping. You just can't hold him he gets so hysterical, I'm upset he's made no attempt to smile yet, he seems so unhappy :(

Have you tried anti-colic bottles hunny? I know Tommee tippee and dr browns do them x x

Bunnykins sorry to hear your baby is not happy :( So difficult to see that they are uncomfortable and not being able to help isn't it?

Lovely to see you all ladies here again :) I miss Tri3 so much... And miss my tummy too - I nearly cried a couple of days ago when I looked at my tummy and remembered how pretty and big it was before... I miss all those little kicks and movements too!

Little George already gave us a scare - I noticed a red patch on the skin around his belly button. I panicked, called a mw, who came and saw him, and sent him to a GP. It turned out that it was just the skin fold rubbing on the cord before it fell off :)

George loves fresh air and sleeps ever so well outside! He stops crying straight away and can sleep there for hours (4-5 hours easily) :)

I really feel for you bunnykins, must be a nightmare for you, hope he starts to get better soon. Are you bottle or breast feeding?

Hi Ladies!!! Lovely idea to start a thread in here!

Well... Caleb is 5 weeks and one day now! Can't believe it's gone so quickly!

He's doing so well, last night he slept for 5 and a half hours in one go for the first time which was lovely, normally he sleeps for about 4 then he's up for an hour and then sleeps for 4, we've been sleeping in til 11-12 most days which has made it a bit more bearable!

My OH has been amazing, he's been dealing with 99% of the nappy changes, and doing all the night feeds... My milk wasn't enough to satisfy Caleb, so after 6 days I was giving him top ups, and then at 10 days he was on hungry milk! He's such a little piggy!

I wish I'd have just bottle fed him from the start, he went from 10lb4 and a half to 9lb7 in the first few days. The midwives didn't recommend me to give him formula, neither did the heath visitor... I just did it and they moaned at me! But then all they did was moan about his massive weight loss!!! I've been giving him 2/3 feeds a day and the rest formula and it's working well but I don't have much milk at all.

Just got him weighed again this morning and at 5 weeks plus one he's 11lb11oz, still a very big boy, he's so heavy!

LucyAnn - We've had some problems with constipation... We've tried anything, cooled boiled water, switching him to first milk, moving his legs, tummy massage, but he's still only going every 2-3 days and it's coming out quite hard at first... We took him to the doctors and she said that's probably just his routine, so I guess he's the same as Sophia.

xxx

Hi Ladies, how are you all? and how are all the gorgeous october babies?

Elexia is doing great, she is now guzzling a whopping 6oz's, shes going to be a little chunk just like her brother was. Cant believe in a weeks time she is a month old, where does time go x x

It is flying by! Kynon will be 7 weeks tommorrow! Still being a demanding greedy little boy, still on 2 hourly feeds which is getting quite draining though he might go a bit longer by now. We went to a baby sensory class today, def recommend it, was good fun and he seemed to enjoy it. Also got baby massage and swimming booked for in a few weeks, think I'm doing it more for me to meet other mums though!

We've just upped Grace to 5oz and she's staying awake now for an hour or so after each feed during the day but goes straight back to sleep during night feeds (thank god!)

My OH went back to work yesterday which was a shock to his system after having 3 weeks off but we seem to be managing ok without the extra pair of hands!

Sophia is doing well, she is much better and taking 5oz+ feeds every 3 hours at least! She would prob have 6oz per feed but we are taking it slow due to her vomiting - she has been keeping all feeds down so just taking it slow, although if she's awake she thinks she constantly has to be feeding!!

She put on almost 1lb in the last 9 days even though she was vomiting and had been poorly so she is doing fab :)

We have started giving her Colief in her feeds and have noticed an improvement so alls good :)

 Everyone!!

Kayden is now 3 weeks old, which is pretty wierd, feels like he's been with us forever & feel like I know him so well I forget how young he is.

Kayden takes 5oz feeds all day now & is draining the bottle during the night so might up to 6oz but dont him to start being sick again. He gets a bottle every 3hrs during the day & 4 at night. He goes down between 7/8pm gets up at 12 then at 4 - the 4am feed is always the worst & he wants to stay awake for about an hour after it.

:)

Sounds like the october babies are all doing great :) :yay: x x

Feel like I'm the only October mummy with a baby who only goes 2 hours between feeds and he's the oldest!

Its really tough BFing, but your doing great, keep at it!! I BF'd my 1st & had a very tough time, she wanted fed every 90mins day & night for about 6 weeks. I decided I couldn't go through that again this time. Good for you for keeping at it.

:)

It's like you can't really do much else, not sure I'd manage if I had another LO to look after. I'm getting good at doing things one handed though! lol. You can tell I'm always bf cos I'm always on here while he feeds!

Jax sometimes feeds every 2 hours. He is still really unpredictable. On some occasions he has gone 5 hours. Mostly he goes about 3 hours but we still have days where its every 2 hours and sometimes every hour! It can be exhausting and my right boob is still really painful. I have been tempted to give up so many times and the bottles lined up in the cupboard look so inviting!

So lovely to hear how all the October mummies are getting on! :) Grace is doing well, she's now 5 weeks old and weighs 9 pounds, had to pack away all her early baby and tiny baby clothes yesterday  her 0-3 babygrows are still massive though, managed to get some newborn clothes from Asda yesterday which are for 9-10 pounds so she has something to tide her over till she grows a bit more. Currently taking 4 ounces of formula every 3 hours during the day and 4 hours at night so happy days :)

Oh those bottles do look inviting! Esp when getting a few more hours sleep seems so tempting! He went 5 hours the day he turned 6 weeks, I was so hopeful but it turned out he was getting a cold so prob didn't feel well. Hope your boob feels better soon x

Hey ladies I too have a lo who is unpredictable with feeding times sometimes 5hrs, 3hrs 2hrs or hourly. Yesterday I had her attached from 730 till 1015 but she did then go through till 330.
She is still jaundice though! Went to clinic and she know weighs 8lb9 lol so gained loads this week. Bless her. midwife said if jaundice was here after 2 weeks mw would refer for tests yet hv said leave it till four weeks but it doesn't seem to be getting better and some days she looks really jaundice. keeping her in as much sunlight as u can and she is feeding well. think I might call gp Monday if still there. Anyone else come across this?
anyone going to mum and baby groups?
Ewan started walking beginning of November and he is doing loads of steps now lol just finding him walking around, so hopefully get bit easier with them both soon. Am so tired lol, but totally worth it x
