As you probably know I had my growth scan yesterday and was told Ryan is a big baby so I was meant to see the consultant straight afterwards but I couldnt cos he wasnt in.

They gave me an appointment for 2 weeks (I'll be 38+3) and told me they'd ring me if he wanted to see me any earlier.

They rang this morning and said he doesnt want to see me til then. I was gonna go into the hospital this morning and demand an earlier appointment cos Im going to ask to be induced early due to the babys size and the pain Im in with SPD and a few other things.

Should I nag them and try to be seen earlier or just wait? Im in so much pain now Im crying half the time and I dont want to leave the house.

Nobody at the hospital seems to care

I would ring them again if youa re in so much pain and explain why you want an earlier appointment.

It's obviously upsetting you kirsty, either ring the hospital or your MW, GP, and tell them how you feel and see what they say  I think it's crazy that you have to wait, we didn't care to see a consultant and were made an appt for last monday regarding LO's size, seems they have it all backward sometimes, hope you feel happier soon and very BIG hugs

i think u should keep ringing and peck their heads til they pull their fingers out!
sorry ur feeling rubbish. hope u get somewhere with them, good luck x x

Yes, definitely keep ringing them.... Hope you get it sorted sooner

I agree you should definitely push for an earlier appointment Kirsty.

Good luck

Thanks everyone

The midwife and consultant obviously dont want to help so I've rang the doctor, couldnt get an appointment til the 29th so he's going to ring me back so that I can discuss things with him.

Don't let them push you about, kid, they are a bunch of w*****rs!
take care and try to rest.
Thinking of ya
Lisa

Push for that earlier appointment, you are enitled to the care you want!

Good luck babes!

i would give them a ring.... if your in that much pain then just nag them, i would do the same thing

hope you ok hun... and being tapped in the house i know how that feels

The doctor rang back and said he cant do much about me wanting to be induced early so I'll just have to wait til my midwife appointment on Friday and ask her to liason with the consultant to sort something out. He gave me a number for her and said to try and get in touch with her if I cant wait til Friday. Im just gonna wait though, its only 3 days. He was really nice though and listened to what I had to say, more than I can say for the others.

He said he'd prescribe me some codeine for the pain so I went to pick it up, hopefully it'll help me get through the next few weeks

Ahhh the joys of being pregnant

My heart goes out to you, i rememebr all too well.....if your in pain and are physically unable to do much at all they should be thinking of inducing you surely?
Spd can do some damage in labour i know that much, so are they going to section you? not good i know, but spd in normal labour is extremely painful.
Saying that my sister in law had a succesful VB ith epidural and she said she was fine.

Get on that phone and do your nut at them

They dont seem bothered that I have SPD to be honest, when I told my consultant about a month ago she just said 'Hmmm it must be painful for you' and that was it!

Its got so much worse since then though so hopefully they'll take me seriously now. If they agree to induce me at 39 weeks I'll be happy, thats all I want!

Im hoping the fact that the baby is big will persuade them to start me off early. I know induction is more painful than going into labour naturally, I was induced last time and it was horrible but Id rather go through that 10 times than carry on like I am now! :)

Omg you cn tell people like this do not have kids or have not had this pregnancy symptom!
It has to be the worst out of all of them, id rather be sick then have ll that again. The burning has to be th worst bit!

I would insist to your midwife that you are barely mobile and are struggling to look after yourself properly, suggest the induction to her as she may well agree with you! Plus having a large baby makes it all the worse im sure! Stephen was 7lb 8oz and that was bad enuf, i was crawling most days!

As EX student midwife i saw plenty of mothers that were induced early because of spd and they all had epidurals. But a larger percentage were told it would be safer and less harmful to the pelvis to have a c section.

Hi

I really hope all works out for you hun must be so hard for you .
Stick to what you want and dont let them psuh you around
Katrina
