Hi all. I have been looking around this forum for a few days and I thought you all seem so friendly and nice so i thought i would say hi! I came off the pill last November and have since had 2 periods, one was 47 days, the next was 34 days and this one should be on Thursday if i am going by a 28 day cycle. I have been using opk but have noticed that I havent ovulated once since coming off the pill, i dont have any of the other signs of ovulation either. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if i should be concerned? ttc at the moment but with no egg's its not in the equation right now!

Thanks for reading :)

Hey Hun!

Im having exact same problem. I went on the pill for two months last year after my last MC. And since august i have not ovulated. Or if i have the OPKs aint picked it up.
And i havent got preg which TBH usually comes easily to me (its keeping the babies ive had problems with in past). So im kinda guessing the OPKs are ringing true!

I have no idea wats going on and have got to wait until march for my next specialist appointment. So i havent really got any answers but to say u are not the only one. Its gettin me down as ive never had a problem getting over the 'first hurdle' before. Now i feel ive gone back a step.

A slight positive for u at the moment hun is that it has been only two months (altho i totally understand it is still highly frustrating and feels like every month seems like a YEAR wen TTC)
Ive heard after bein on the pill for a while it CAN take up to 6months for ur periods and ovulation to settle. But normally around 3mths and sumtimes people are lucky and have no prob concieving straight away.
OHHHH to be lucky eh?

So dont let it upset u just yet hun. Try to think positive.
I had a 39 day cycle last month which is higly strange for me. And now yet again im day 30 and still awaiting the little witch to rear her ugly head. (BFNs all round!)

Im goin g to ask about chlomid wen i see doc. My friend didnt ov for a year and it now on clhomid which helps u ov.

So there are options if u still have same prob in couple months but x fingers and toes for u hun. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I feel ur painnnn!!!!
:)

Hugs n babba dust
xxxx

When I stopped the pill I didn't have a period/ovulate for 11 months - but turns out I have pcos. Maybe your body is still settling down after the pill x

Hi hun thank you for replying :) sorry to hear about your losses that must have been a really hard time for you *hugs*. I know, part of me thought to myself maybe I shouldnt post because it hasnt been THAT long but typically most of my friends who have come off the pill and and had babies got preggo straight away and i am like a thing possessed with the opk's even to the point where my eyes play tricks on me!!!!!

Its really frustrating cos you just wanna start and for everything to be in normal working order haha

baby dust back to you hun and fingers crossed with both ov soon!!!!!
xxxxx

Thanks Princess81, guess I am just gonna have to be patient on this one, something I am reeeeeeeeeally bad at! xx

Ahhhh hun every problem is a problem big or small.
I was worrying at two months too so ur not on ur own.
Dont ever think u cant post on here....u shud see some of the stuff we talk about on here!!!! Lol.
There is no shame sometimes!!
lol
But were all in it together yeah?
Im sure u will be just fine and try not to worry (i know its not that easy and i hate it wen people say that to me so please feel free to tell me to shut the hell up!! lol)

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh and the OPK thing? Lol
We are ALL totally OBSESSED with them here. :)
I think its all a part of TTC and being the crazy ladies tht we r :)

So ur completely normal hun teehee.
And if not....then we all insane with u

xxxxxxxxxxxxx:oooo::lol::)

Hi
Ive been off the pill since April last year and I have only had one period since I came off it which was September. It was really painful the week before i came on and because i hadnt had a period i didnt know it was that! Spotted for 2 days in december and read that it may have been implantation bleeding but 6 tests later i accepted that it was negative!
Not TTC properly at the mo... getting married next year so wanted to give my body a break and try and regulate my cycles as they were irregular before the pill then we can start properly when were married.
I went to the docs before my period in september and he told me that it can take a year for them to start properly and regulate xxxx

Thanks Kezzipea, thats really comforting to know. I have my Mum and my partner to talk to but sometimes you really need to talk to people who are going through the same thing! Its amazing how complex this pregnancy thing is when you really have to get into it all!!!!!!!

All in it together is a lovely way to put it and really comforting in what is actually a stressful time!

Hugs jadeb, I hope you get all you wish for soon xxxx

Hey, sorry was just nosing on other forums & thought I'd reply to this as I can't sleep. I came off the pill in Nov 10 & also had ridiculous cycles ranging from 34-48! It took me until Oct 11 to get pregnant. I was still in the 34-35 day cycle range too so my body still hadn't gor back to its original 30 day cycle like before I was on the pill. I was only on the pill for about a year too. It all depends on the person though, how long you took the pill etc. I temped so I could keep my eye on it all, rarely used opk's cos I didnt want the stress. Oct was the month we kinda stopped trying though so had no stress at all, plus hadnt bd for fee days but then couple of days after we did i ovulated...then BAM! Also, we used pre seed for lube which might have done the trick lol, i would recommend. Wishing u all the best ttc everyone, hope some of this helped :) xx

Hey hun i was just reading you post and thought i would just tell you when i came off the pill it took me just over 5 months to Ovulate again. It has also taken my body 7-8 months to regulate. Every body is different but you will Ov sooner or later

xxxx

Thanks for your reply hun, its frustrating isnt it. I was on the pill for 10 years. I keep reading different things, some people saying it does matter how long you went on it for how long it gets back to normal and others saying it doesnt matter. I think i need to stop thinking about it so much as i know stress makes it worse as your post proves! :dance:Thank you for your advice! :) xxx

Hey hun just thought i would share my experiences with you in the hope itl make u feel a bit better

I was on the pill for approx 10 yrs (yasmin) and came off it end of july....that 1st cycle was 37 days....next cycle was 36 days,....then 3rd cycle was a massive 81 days!!! in the end on around cd 70 something I went on agnus castis which is supposed to regulate you (not sure af would have arrived at all if i hadnt taken the ac).....so the cycle after that was only 26 days (big difference eh lol)....im now on cycle 5 and nearly 7 months ttc

try not to worry hun (easier said than done i know) as it can take a while to regulate after being on the pill....u may want to give urself a cut off month, that if you havent ovulated or conceived by then you go and see ur dr. may help having something to aim for.

also what opks are you using? As in my first few months i tried really cheapy ones and they didnt work for me at all....my test line was never as dark as control line....so i then bought tescos opks and they were alot better. this month im trying clearblue digi opks.

also when arfe you testing with the opks? are you drinking alot before you do it? are you holding your wee for couple of hrs before doing it? (sorry if u are doing all of these its just easier to advise if know all the info)

good luck hun xxx

Hey hun thanks for your post. So frustrating isnt it! i had said to myself that after 5 months of being off the pill i would go and see my doc which i think is a reasonable time to wait. i am using one step opks and around ov time i did them twice a day but usually i would do them about 5.30 in the evening, i did it when i got home from work so i knew i hadnt had anything to drink for a while. i didnt realise tesco did them though, are they fairly cheap? if so i might give them a go

thanks hun xxxxx

the tesco ones were like 7/8 sticks for like £8 but i found them to be clearer for me than the cheaper ones...i know other girls find the cheaper ones work perfect for them tho so i guess it depends on the individual

i really hope thigs kickstart for you soon hun xxx

Thank you. Now waiting for AF which should be tomorrow, have had cramping but i have had this before but then it hasnt appeared for another 10 days! grrr

Thanks for your reply :) xxxxxxxx

Hey ladies I can relate to this. I came off the pill after 16 years last feb and periods came back and I do ovulate but they are so light and I start spotting at 10dpo I'm sure that something isn't right :(

Had a scan and progesterone done which was normal so am being referred now as its been a year. It's so disheartening isn't it x
