No Sweep

Just been for my 40 week check up - my consultant at the hospital advised a sweep at term but my MW decided today that they're more effective the further overdue you are so she'll do one next Fri instead...not sure how much truth is in that - wouldn't surprise me if she was just trying to get out of doing it to be honest

Otherwise, baby is happy Pretty much fully engaged (MW could only feel his/her mouth and chin sticking above my pelvis) There was a trace of protien in my urine but she's not bothered by it - like everything else...! lol!

So it's all a waiting game now! COME ONE MINI ME!!!

No gut feeling at all hun - everyone thinks a boy but i'm secretly hoping it's a girl to prove them all wrong! Hehe! All OH's family are lads you see. Need some women in that family! x

i think thats true that sweeps are more effective the further along you are. My midwife told me to ask for a sweep on my due date and if im not iduced to go see them at 41weeks for another 1 but she did say it probably wont do anything but its worth a try as they want to induce me so soon x

awwwww Im sorry you didnt get a sweep.....thats really annoying!! I dont understand why they do just do it - they keep saying we are full term at 37 weeks - so at 40weeks should be the perfect time for a sweep!!! I hope your baby comes this week sweetie!! thinking of you..... sooooo exciting xxx

Thats crap they wouldnt giev you a sweep! I would agree that they work better the further along you are...but I had one at 40+1 and I have to say...it did about as much good as the one at 40+12 lol....Maybe Im a bad example lol.

I see you with a girl...but I tend to be wrong about these things. Not long now though and you'll know!!

Only signs i've been getting is the odd painful BH - Had 3 that were 15 mins apart yesterday so was getting excited... lol!

I don't think baby is in any hurry to come skin side yet - don't blame him/her to be honest, the weather's been crap today! x

Shame they didn't give you a sweep! It is more effective later on but that's only coz you have more chance of going into labour naturally later on lol!! It may have worked but you will never know now lol!! X

Well, you can only go on your own experience, and in my experience sweeps don't work!! I've had 3 and still no sign of baby at 40+9

I see you with a little girl as well for some reason although I'm not one of those people known for my womens intuition lol!

I had loads and loads with belle that never worked but with zander I had two before my due date and the second one at 39+ 5 worked x
