Nightfeeds Chat Thread

My oh offers that kind of thing too and I can tell he just doesn't understand how painful it gets and that I'm just being some kind of martyr! Haha. I had always planned to slowly start introducing formula at 12 weeks, so am instead starting to do it now as I can't take anymore! Feel proud to have exclusively breastfed for 9 weeks, and will continue for at least another month decreasing slowly. That's the plan anyway! Are u just going to keep going? I have to stop before I go back to work in January xx

I'm not sure, I'd love to keep going but I'm kind of taking it week by week. He has a bedtime formula feed which I really do think is why he goes from 8.30-1, & if we are going out for a few hours I will give him a formula feed so I don't need to feed when I'm out, so I'm not anti-formula atall!

I have no choice but to carry on ebf-ing as Josh won't take a bottle still :-/

Tried again tonight and I think he told 3-4 gulps in total and then screamed the house down!!

Dreading tonight after last nights sleeplessness.

Oh hun that's not good, hopefully he'll take it eventually? No one tells u about all of these issues when you're pregnant! Xxx

Ohh im sorry to hear that. Hopwfully he will take to it soon. My JJ is sometimes fussy with his bottle. Sometimes I have to push it to basically his throat before he takes it properly. Other times he will grab it with hos mouth! Xx

First feed already!! Last one was at 8.30/9 so suppose 1am isn't too bad (and I've been asleep since 9.30 too).

I've pretty much given up on Josh taking his bottle, it's so disheartening and such a waste of breast milk when I have to throw it away :-/

First feed for us, is not too bad but H didn't go to sleep until 10.45.

Becky I'm really stingey with the milk & dont really follow the "rules". I'd put it back in the fridge if he refused a bottle!

Oh dear.. First feed 2 hours earlier than normal... Does not bode well for the rest of the evening! It Is so warm tonight!

Oh Becky I didn't even think about the waste! Although u could just then freeze it for the future?? Xxx

First feed 11-11.40. He's being SUCH a loud sleeper that ive barely slept since. Think he is waking again now properly.

First feed for us :) went down at half 9 so she's had 5 hours! Getting to become regular now yey! Not bad considering yesterday and today she slept ALL day! Xx

They do say sleep feeds sleep! My boy will not go back down, I've tried twice now and he just wakes straight up again. I am exhausted......

We got lo used to the bottle with tiny amounts of formula as u couldn't bear to waste breast milk! And I have to hold her as if she was being BF!

Noooooo! She's only been down an hour and up for more!! She's fell asleep straight away on my boob too - grrr! Last feed she was really restless though and took ages to settle - I'm sure she had wind but couldn't get it up! Xx

Well the first feed at 1am was really quick - back down by 1.30. Up again at 4am and now hoping he's down but he seems to be thrashing around a lot and I've got a feeling he's gearing up for a cry :-/

Saralouise - I wasn't sure about putting the expressed milk back in the fridge as it was previously frozen. I tend to only keep it in 2ozs as I know what he's like!

Spinsugar - we've tried so many positions, like we're breast feeding (no good as he just goes for my nipple), facing away from me, in his bouncer chair... Same reaction - screwed up crying face!!
